Richard heard a faint little scream coming from the inside elevatorshaft. The group that had to bring up Curtis was apparently moving slower than Richard had anticipated or it was already some other group that had already armed their bomb. The scream was clearly female and he couldn't quite picture Inne screaming like that so that left the gypsy and Sam.
Doubt and fear grabbed hold of Richard. He was uncertain what to do. Shooting the beast might draw its attention, but that would endanger everyone as well. Just as Richard decided to shoot anyway and try to save whomever was in trouble, Rob came running around the corner and almost floored Richard in the process. A millisecond later Sam came running around the corner as well and knocked both of em to the ground. Luckily the noise did not attract the beasts attention.
As Sam helped both men back up, Inne and Carib came running around the corner. Both froze at the sight of the beast. Another scream came out of the elevatorshaft, making clear it was the little gypsy girl that was under attack by the beast. Richard was somehow relieved it wasn't Sam, but they had to help her anyway. The practical problem was: HOW?
Carib could barely stop Rob in time from taking a potshot at the beast and said: "Not just yet, we need a plan first."
"The bombs are set but we only have 5 minutes! It's the only way out! So let's shoot our way out!" Rob said clearly frustrated and somewhat scared.
"There is a cave in the room located most to the north, it might lead out, I don't see us having any other option and we don't have the time to look for an alternative. But beware, I already had to shoot a Radscorpion there." Richard quickly explained.
"OK, but first we have to help the girl. Does anybody have any bright ideas?" Sam said.
"How about we try to lure it into a room with two exits and seal it in?" Inne suggested. She was thinking about some huntingtrips where she had used the same tactics, but in a different setting.
"No time to argue, let's do that. Lure it in, close the door, shoot the lock and run like hell." Richard said. It was a sound plan, but was it foolproof? Would the beast cooperate? No time to worry about that...
The group lined up and fired a good amount of bullets into the creatures back. Then quickly retreated, while keeping an eye on what the beasts response would be.
