ICC- Zombie Apocalypse- At the Truck Stop

Status
Not open for further replies.
OCC- Still waiting to see what Stompie and Bob do.

Hammond looks at Gary and Mitchell and says, "Don't you fucking move."

Both men freeze.

Wallace can still not see Hammond behind the truck and Gary and Mitchell block Bob's line of sight. Both men have to move to a better position to shoot.

"You, drop that rifle." Says Hammond to Jimmy, the runaway.

Then to Sean, Hammond says, "And you need to shut the fuck up."

Hammond shoots Sean again. This time the bullet hits Sean in the head, and he falls lifeless

"Three left." Said Hammond. "Dave, better get Earl's shotgun."

David the trucker has his pistol in his hand, but does not go for the shotgun.

Hammond detecting the lack of movement behind him from David, turns to face David. "Is there a problem?"

Both men are pointing guns in each other's general direction.

Bob shoots a glance into the parking lot and sees a woman approach with a shotgun in her hand, followed by three young men, one with a pistol and two with baseball bats.

OCC- note Bob and Wallace?

In the garage -

As Bob sees Hammond shoot Sean in the head, he quickly moves to a clear line of fire. If possible, he'll choose a place where he's partially covered by something (like the side of the truck, a table, stuff like that).

Just before firing, he yells "Down!" to Gary and Mitchell in the hope that they wouldn't get hit by return fire. Bob then 'double taps' (2 shots) aimed in the general area of the upper torso and head.

In the garage-

Mitchell and Gary, who were on the way out, see Bob coming in with pistol aimed.

Behind Bob he hears the girl mutter, "Fuck, here we go" as she chambers a round.

Both Gary and Mitchell drop to the floor like rocks.

Bob sees Hammond pointing his gun towards David and gets in first shots. He fires.

OCC- ok Suaside, roll twice and if you hit, roll damage. Stompie, you might want to engage at this time. You would also have the edge in sequence of fire vis-a-vis Hammond.

OOC : Alright. From my standing, Wallace is stairing at the hood of the rig, and the shot rang from the other side, Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ic

Garrage

Wallace herd the shot, and felt the cuncussion that rang through the garrage; after hearing the conversation. He could deduce, that Hammond had just killed a man; and was about to squeeze a round off at another. Quickly; He dropped to the ground ( Dex 14 Vs roll 12). The distance between him and the shooter, gave him ample ability for aim, though the body of his target was cut off; due to the clearance alloted by the truck. Wallace took aim at the shooters left leg, And squeezed the trigger Hitting the shooter in the left leg, Causing the shooter to slump

OOC - Once more, Correct me if I'm wrong

In the garage -

Bob's first shot hits causing a feeble 3hp damage, but the second bullet misses (as Hammond slips onto the floor due to Wallace's shots?). After which Bob looks for cover.

OCC: Stompie, your damage roll is wrong. you did 8+4 instead of 1d8+1d4.

In the garage-

OCC- Stompie, Suaside is correct. I have rerolled damage for 6 points total.

IC-
The garage echoes in a series of gunshots. The shots are fired in quick succession, nearly at the same time.

As both Mitchell and Gary drop, Hammond sees Bob coming towards him. Hammond turns to face the helicopter pilot. But it is too late and he knows it.

Before Hammond can shoot, Wallace manages to fire, hitting Hammond in the leg, and throwing off Hammond's shot.

Hammond groans as he tries to keep his balance as his badly wounded leg.

Bob fires next, coming in fast and firing. But his movement perhaps throws off the shot. One round goes high and the other is fired low, hitting Hammond but only wounding him.

Hammond is losing his balance and is falling, but he still has his guns and points it back towards Bob. But the gunfire has set off David, who fires twice, almost as reflex to the soon of nearby gunfire. Both shots are fired hastily at Hammond even as Hammond goes down. One hits him in the arm, shattering bone and piercing a blood vessel. The gun hand falls as the second shot is fired. The second shot is fired low and pierces Hammond's leg.

Hit four times, Hammond is motionless and bleeding from four different wounds. He looks up into the ceiling of the garage even darkness come over him.

David looks down at Hammond as Bob comes into the garage and Wallace moves around the truck. Behind them, Kimberly enters the garage with her shotgun ready.

Seeing Bo wounded, she moves towards him quickly to offer what assistance she can.

Baldwin has come out of the truck and sees the fallen men. "Ah fuck. But we got someone we need to get fuel too, and we got to go."

In the Diner-

Inside the garage, people are hearing the sound of gunfire despite the relative insulation of noise afforded by the diner's construction.

Dave has entered the garage and sees Samantha, Allice and Sally in the kitchen.

Rita, however, hearing what Mrs. Foo says, removes the handgun she has under register and says, "Ashley, you best shut the fuck up. No one is taking nothing from this place."

In the Communications Room-

Major Andrews responds, "I have conveyed your message and coordinates to the CO. I suggest that you hold out as long as you can and try to keep the creatures at a safe distance. You risk infection if they get close."

After Stephanie's long message she tries to receive from Hawaii, but there is no message from Goldberg. Instead she hears what sounds vagually like,

"GGGGRRRRrrrrrr!!!! Arrrrghhhhh!!!!"

Then

"Mother Fucker!"

Then what sounds like

Whack! WHack! Whack!

Then silence.

Omaha responds. "Got it. Your hypotheses cooresponds with with others as per the mechanical behavior of the enemy. Our situation is critical. Outer defenses are breached and we have penetration in different areas. Unsure how long we can hold out. Critical that Haussman and her data arrive ASAP. If you cannot get it here, you will have to try for CDC HQ in Georgia."

On the Rooftop-

"Looks like that one is stopped." Says Charlie, seeing Luke's hit.

OCC- head shots of 10 points will usually drop a zombie.

Luke's shot dropped one of the zombies. Two others, hit by Charlie are still up and moving but much slower now. The others, 17 in all, have closed in and are now within 500 yards.

Charlie begins to fire away. One shot misses but he scores on two different zombies, hitting heads on both tries. Both fall and don't get up.

Charlie smiles. "Now there are 15."

But the Zombies are closing in.

In the garage-
As much as it pained Bo to speak, he had no choice. "Thanks. Watch out for those bodies; they'll liable to get up and attack like Horst did. A shotgun blast to the head seemed to do the trick." He recovered his fallen shotgun and loaded two more shells into it to replace the ones he'd fired as he spoke. "Lucky I had my vest on. I'll be okay, but I'm still hurt and won't make Brownson. Wallace, you're my deputy now. Baldwin volunteered to drive fuel to a police chopper heading for the airfield there in his rig. Get your rifle, help him and Bob load the fuel, and hit the road. Time's running out. They'll explain the situation. I'll stay here and guard the garage. Use the CB to warn Jim Kerr of the incoming threat, to take my car to get out of harm's way, and to protect Dr. Hausmann. He's got the keys. Tell all units about the nature of these creatures, but don't mention that Horst, Earl, and Hammond are dead. The PMS might be listening on a police scanner."

Bo briefly explained what had happened in the garage while Kimberly helped him. "When Earl's corpse started rising, there was little time. I saw how fast Horst and the thing that killed Earl attacked and knew anyone they killed could become one too. I didn't want it to go down like this, but I knew if I didn't fire, someone else probably would have. Hammond might have shot them, and they didn't have Kevlar.

"The zombie that killed Earl ran in from the junkyard. It had a bullet wound in the chest that wasn't fresh. My guess is he was a homicide victim. I don't think Hammond suspected I was onto him and probably shot me because he didn't understand Earl was already dead, but maybe he saw the other body and knew the jig was up. But Sean was helpless and trying to reason with Hammond when he murdered him in cold blood. Don't worry, David, you're in the clear. I know you were forced to work for Hammond, and you just helped save all our asses. Someone ought to clean up that oil spill too - it's a fire hazard, and there's enough fuel here to blow us all sky high."

In the diner-
Mrs. Foo froze when Rita pulled out her gun and slowly raised her hands to show she wasn't a threat.

"Easy there, ma'am," said Father McCormick. "We're not your enemies. If you want to shoot someone, take a look outside and you'll see over a dozen people who look like they're possessed running this way."

"We don't have time get back to motel before they get here now," said Mrs. Foo, "but we can help you defend diner."

In the comm room-
"Mr. Goldberg, please respond!" cried Stephanie. "Are you okay? Did he bite you? Over." Next she told Mr. Foo what Major Andrews had said and called him back. "Roger that, Major. The others can take up positions on the upstairs balcony while I run this station. I'll be the last line of defense, if it comes to that. It sounds like the infected man in Hawaii attacked Mr. Goldberg, and he had to take a machete to him. I'm waiting for a response from him. Over."

Mr. Foo worked to complete the repairs on the laptop as quickly as possible.

Stephanie spoke to the CDC in Omaha again: "Understood. We'll try to hold out at our end. I had a feeling this phenomenon was bioelectrical in nature. These people act like animals, but also like robots in a way. If the power is coming from some outside source, maybe there's a way to jam the transmission somehow. If the earth's own magnetic field is powering it, though, that makes it trickier. An electromagnetic pulse might have an effect too, but that would disrupt your own electronics. Let me see what I can find out about the regions that have been nuked. Maybe the EMPs resulting from the detonations have had an impact beyond the edge of the blast radius. Over."

On the Rooftop -

Luke, just as Charlie continues to fire. (OCC - i'm assuming the same rate of fire & relative CTH as Charlie)

He shoots three times, before his clip is empty and starts to reload. He always aims at the closest runner and goes for the headshot. He switches targets without waiting for his bullet to hit (no followthrough for faster firing). After doing 7hp and 8hp of damage (on two different zombies), he's forced to reload.

In the Diner -

Dave storms into the diner, unaware of the tension inside.

"Need help! Two are down and Earl is toast for sure. Judging by the gunfire there are probably more people hit than that. I think Hammond lost it." Dave yells "There is some heavy bleeding, I think they need to get plugged asap or they won't be alive for long."

In the Garage -

Bob carefully closes in on Hammond, making sure he isn't faking it or that he 'comes back' as a zombie. Once he's convinced Hammond has really kicked the bucket, he'll look for some heavy tool (or a brick if there is nothing suitable) & smash Hammond's skull with all his strength (which should be quite a lot). After that, he'll go back to work on the fuel barrels.

During these actions he tries to coordinate the other people a bit, as his Navy officer training takes the upper hand again.

"Gary, help me with the barrel, we need to load em on the truck so they can resupply the other chopper."

"Hey, kid there next to Gary (Mitchell), check the cops wound." he says "He might say it's ok, but put some pressure on it and try to keep down the bleeding until a doc or that nurse get here. I don't want his ass to pass out just because he's too much of a macho to admit he's hurt in front of chicks."

"Talking of which: Hey, girl with the shotgun overthere." he says "I don't know what you're doing here, but you look like you mean business. That business can wait. I'd encourage you to go with the guys that are going to the chopper. If they don't get there in time, our chances of getting out of here alive drop by over 50%."

"Baldwin, don't forget to check the airport for fuel." Bob says.

OCC- EDIT: Added the last paragraph.

IC-
In the garage-
Bo cooperated with Kimberly, unbuttoning his shirt. The wound was still bad even with his vest, but it would have been much worse without it. He helped apply pressure to it. "Thanks, Bob. It's good you reminded them about looking for more fuel if they get the chance. We'll need all we can get. Bring the rig back too afterwards if you can. It's packed with food. If you don't have a gun, collect the guns and ammo here. There's Sean's rifle, Earl's shotgun, and Hammond's .357. Hammond's shotgun must be back at the diner. I've also got my Beretta if anyone else needs a gun."

All of Bo's efforts had taken a lot out of him. He was in a lot of pain and exhausted. As much as he tried to keep going, he was only human and could only do so much. It had been a lot, and as he slipped into unconsciousness he hoped it was enough.

In the garage-

OCC- An inventory of guns is wise. Note that two of the guys following Kimberly are armed with baseball bats and that Mitchell is also unarmed.

IC-

As Bob looks around for something to smash in Hammond's head, the two dogs approach sniffing at Hammonds feet. They begin to growl. Perhaps Bob would benefitted from this lucky warning, but is distracted as he gives instructions.

But the dogs persistence shift his concentration to Hammond.

Hammond's eyes open. They are red. Lifeless but hateful.

Hammond reaches for Bob as David jumps back.

Kimberly hearing the movement shifts around away from Bo and reaches for her shotgun. She sees Hammond, a man she knew to be dead moving and screams even as she reaches for the gun.

Hammond is quick, even as it drags its destroyed arm and wounded leg, but Bob is narrowly faster and is able to evade the first grab.

Unable to dodge out of Hammond's way, Bob retreats.

Hammond pursues, dragging its wounded arm and leg behind, yet moving with unnaturally quick speed across the floor, leaving a sticky trail of blood behind.

OCC- No time to take an aimed shot now, Bob may try to shoot twice or shoot once and dodge, or dodge twice to escape. ALl other characters, except Bo, may try to shoot twice).

On the Roof-

Charlie is reloading his rifle watching the creatures approach. "Hey, those two are still comin'. Ya slowed them down though" He says to Luke. Indeed the two are still approaching but slower.

Charlie retakes up his position and aims for the next creature. The nearest are almost 300 yards away and closing fast.

In the Diner-

Dave sees Rita pointing a gun at him. "Earl is dead? What's with Hammond. What happened to Hammond? Speak God Damn you."

To Mrs. Foo, Rita says, "You can shut your hole. Ain't no one taking nothin from here. And don't try to talk God to me preacher. I ain't a believer."

Lynne stands up and approaches Rita. "Hey Rita. I'm with you and will have your back. Do you got another gun?' She says, trying to gain her confidence.

"Shut up and sit down, you stupid whore." Says Rita. "Worthless, you and the rest."

OCC- Note that the only one who knows Hammonds condition is Dave. Also note that the others in the garage do not know what is going on in the diner.

In the Communications Room-

Nothing comes back from Goldberg.

Omaha responds- "Got it. We've been working on that hypothesis and believe that there was somekind of trigger that was set off. The meteor shower is connected. We need to get Haussman and her data here ASAP. We cannot hold out much longer. Our perimeter has been penetrated. Outer defenses have been compromised. There just too many of them... If this position is overcome, you will have to proceed to CDC HQ in Georgia. It is essential that you get Haussman and her data in. Essential."

OCC- Father McCormick succeeded at his Psychology roll on Rita (7% roll vs. 55% skill): http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=599248

IC-
In the diner-
Mrs. Foo remained silent and motionless, watching and listening, ready to react should the situation change. Father McCormick seemed to praying silently and also observing Rita.

In the Communications Room-
"Understood," Stephanie told Omaha. "I'll pass on what I've learned to Dr. Hausmann when I see her again, but I can't leave this post right now. She's at the diner across the road. We're working on getting a chopper, and Mr. Foo is just finishing the repairs to the laptop. The data's intact.

"Your analysis of the cause of the crisis makes sense. Maybe there's some way to short out whatever's causing this. An electrified barrier like a fence or metal floor might be effective, but that's just a guess. It would be interesting to see if a taser or a defibrillator would work, but that would require getting close to the infected, which is a bad idea. Major Andrews at Warren AFB told me that this thing seems to spread through biting, and you need to keep your distance. We've got some of them coming our way. I notified Warren and hopefully they can send us some backup. Over."

Stephanie continued trying to contact Goldberg and keeping tabs on events across the world. While she was doing that she tried to find out what effect, if any, the EMPs from the nukes had had on the infected.

garage

Seeing the standing corpse of the shooter, Wallace pulled the hammer back, with his thumb; Without aiming, he squeezed off a shot. The .357 JHP round hits Hammond Center of mass, The ballistic shock was visible, in the undead Hammond's lumbering slouch.
The expanding soft lead Causing extra trauma

OOC - How does impale work?

Meat locker

Flip scanned the room, looking for anything that could be used as a Cudgle, against his former mentor; His eyes But finds nothing. He looks over his shoulder seeing the locker's door, still cracked open. He began to back-peddle, keeping his eyes fixed on Horst, His fists balled.

In the garage -

Bob decides it wisest to try and escape, rather than fumble with his gun and try to defend himself that way. There are plenty of armed people around, but they wouldn't be able to help at all if he were to get caught by the zombie. (as requested in pm: Dex roll for resistance table ( 1d100=88 ) and double dodge attempt ( 1d100=14, 1d100=33 vs 26% baseskill ).)

Still, if the zombie were to grab him, he readies to defend himself with all his might and martial arts knowledge.

On the Roof -

Luke continues his routine, shooting the closest zombie and then immediately moving on to the next. (I presume that means the 2 that got slowed down are not the ones I'm shooting at now. They pose less of a threat anyway.)

He fires three more shots from the roof (1d100=70, 1d100=83, 1d100=10 against 80% CTH) and scores two hits. This time, the two zombies that got hit, do go down nicely (2d6+3=12, 2d6+3=14).

In the Diner -

"How about you come help out, rather than pointing a gun at me? What did I ever do to deserve this?" Dave sighs at Rita "These people need help now!"

Dave thinks it's more prudent not to say that Hammond shot the two cops.

OCC - I guess McCormick talks her down after this.

OCC- Couple of notes- Psychology usually allows the person to get a decent impression of what someone else is doing, thinking, their mental state and perhaps what they might do. Not really that helpful to talk someone down (I did a cheat earlier to allow it but it doesn't normally work that way.)

Bob's Dex vs resistance, merely indicates that Bob would be escaping moving faster than Hammond- allowing him some initiative. (Truth be told, this is a bit of a cheat). Also Bob should roll dex to see if he trips- backtracking quickly from an attacking zombie, a person could stumble. Alas, it doesn't quite matter.

Stompie- note that Hammond is really just crawling very fast, not standing. Also note that Flip is currently looking down a .38 held by Bob. You have to roll know based on the picture of a girl that Bob is showing you. Horst is motionless again.

In the garage-

Bob continues to retreat as Hammond crawls after him, dragging his bleeding body over the concrete of the garage floor, blood trails smeared behind him.

Hammond's body spasms as Wallace hits it with his pistol. David standing nearby shoots twice, missing once but scoring glancing blow to the head. Hammond, for a moment stops his attack but then reaches out for Bob again.

Kimberly, still screaming, attacks Hammond with her shotgun, taking three steps across the floor before unloading a blast into Hammond's back.

Hammond's body collapses. The arm still stretched out to Bob, the eyes still alive and awake. The shotgun blast, added to the damage already inflicted on the body, has finally stopped, but not ended, Hammond. His body devestated, it can no longer move, but it is still, in its own strange way, aware.

In the Diner-

Rita points the gun momentarily at Dave. "Sit down and tell me what happened? Earl's dead? What about Hammond?"

On the roof-

Charlie is also shooting. Two shots score. One of the creatures falls and stops moving. The other takes the hit, falls, gets up and continues, but now at a slower pace.

Three of the creatures have been slowed, and three more have been dropped. But that leaves nine that are still running for the T-Bone.

(OCC- Both men may fire one last time at the runners, then they will be below your line of sight or within the T-Bone)

In the Meat Locker-

Bud watches Flip down the barrel of his.38. "Don't even think about it punk. I'll pop you faster than you can blink. Now tell me, where is this girl?"

The picture Bud is showing is of a pretty girl, middle class, clean-cut. (Flip, Roll Know.)

In the Comm room-

There are no messages being sent from either Goldberg or Major Andrews. Stephanie finds another station is operating in Alaska, another in Canada. There are two more within the continental US, in Nevada and Maine.

In the garage -

"Thanks guys." Bob says as he tries to catch his breath.

He then finally grabs something heavy to crush the skull as he intended, in the hope that that will stop it from coming back again. He'll then focus once again on loading the barrel.

"We need to get moving NOW!" Bob says "Or we'll be sending the other pilot to her death."

At the diner -

"Rita, I don't know, we don't have time for this!" Dave tries to explain helplessly as fast as possible "Earl got bitten and killed by a zombie coming through the back of the garage, they shot the zombie, but it was too late."

"Then, Earl came back as a zombie and the cop shot him to prevent him from harming anyone else." Dave continues "But then Hammond walked in and shot the two cops. The pilot ordered Hammond to cool down and lower his gun, but Hammond threathened the other people there and then the shooting started again. I don't know more than that, I was running to get help for the cops, they're pretty messed up. Hammond is a nasty shot."

"Incoming!" Luke yells from the top of the roof to warn the people below "They're almost at the diner!"

Luke then empties his clip. Both shots hit (1d100=69, 1d100=8 vs 80% CTH).
The first shot is sufficient to stop the zombie (2d6+3=10) and the next one even completely severs the zombies head (impaling headshot 4d6+6=20).

"Hey Geronimo, go downstairs and protect those people." Luke says between shots "I'll stop what I can from here."

OCC- That's how I intended for Father McCormick to use his Psych roll, to get an impression of Rita and what she might do. Maybe his Oratory skill will be able to convince her of the danger.

Father McCormick succeeded at his Oratory roll (36% roll vs. 75% skill): http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=601170

IC-
In the diner-
Roger McCormick ushered Mrs. Foo away from the diner's entrance and addressed Rita primarily but spoke loudly so everyone could hear: "My healing skills are quite good if anyone is injured. Who we all are or what we've done in the past doesn't matter now. Nobody is without sin. We must overcome our differences and work together if we aim to get through this. Ma'am, this is your diner. We won't remove your legally owned property without your consent, and we can help protect this place."

Mrs. Foo lowered her head. "You right, Father," she said. "I sorry. Not my place to judge."

In the Comm room-
Stephanie contacted each of the four stations, starting with the one in Alaska and proceeding in the order she found them in, reasoning that the ones in more isolated areas were more likely to be secure. "This is Stephanie Bridges," she said. "Mr. Foo and I are at a station like yours in southwest Nebraska. Please let us know your status. We've been forwarding intelligence to Warren AFB, but our position is not secure and we may have to go off the air temporarily - or permanently if the worst happens. Are you in a secure location and capable of taking over this task for at least 45 minutes? Over."

Mr. Foo was finishing up the work on Dr. Hausmann's laptop. As soon as he was done, he planned to go out and look at the people coming down the highway.

Outside the hotel

OCC- While waiting for the others to post.....

IC-

The people in the hotel and those on the roof of the T-Bone hear the distinct "CRACK" of an AR-15 being fired from the hotel.

Azadeh has found Alex's AR-15 and is shooting at the incoming creatures.

Two shots miss, but one goes through a zombie's head. Amazingly, the creature gets up again and begins stumbling towards the T-Bone.

Now there are six of the things running for the T-Bone. Behind them.... a lot more. She tries to gauage the distance, thinking about how fast the creatures run as compared to a normal person.

Impossible. No way that an old person like Mrs. Foo can get back in time. Little chance anyone will be able to get out before the runners arrive.

Ellen Cody, moving things out of a hotel room to prepare a barricade sees the Persian woman crouched in the rise near the hotel and aiming at the monster.

"How close?" She calls out.

"Real damn close. Those folks in the diner are not going to make it back." Calls out Azadeh, as she takes aim again. "Better get ready. They will be here in less than half a minute."

On the road North-

Michael has to make a quick choice, and by no real nor valid particular reason chooses to go east, thinking there might be a way back to the motel or the dinner in that direction. For the moment his only concern is to leave Alex and the Lathan family behind, safely behind.

In the dinner-

Willie is near Thisha, trying to comfort her, while he hears the scene at the dinner and attempts to understand what the others are talking about.

Willie thinks: "People that get bitten by zombies, and transform themselves into zombies? What the heck are they talking about? Obviously the situation is much worse than what any normal explanation could possibly answer. I mean all that people along the highway... But better not to think about it now, I could go crazy in the wrong moment and there is no time for that in this situation."

On the Rooftop.

Charlie continues to fire scoring three hits before the creatures are beneath their line of sight.

Charlie speaks as he shoots. "First off, my name is Charlie, not Geronimo." One zombie dressed like a postman falls down with a bullet through the eye.

"Secondly, I don't like white people, especially pale face assholes who order us Injuns around like we're on a reservation." He says, as a second one falls , this was a teenager.

"Thirdly, you got a shotgun and I got a carbine. So I reckon you should go down there and play hero. Me. I am going to ping these other fuckers coming up and then try to find a way to that hotel behind us."

The third shot is devestating, blows one zombie, dressed in what appears to be a female jogger, head open like a melon.

As Charlie finishes speaking a large aircraft flies in from the West towards their location. It looks like a C-130 Cargo plane.

OCC- If Luke wants to try to convince Charlie to go down, he should try to offer some kind of bargain and roll on that skill. If you want a positive ID on the plane, roll Know.)

Outside the hotel

Azadeh sees that the creatures are too close and attempts to fire off three more shots before retreating to the house.

The first shot drops a creature that looks like a real estate agent. But the rifle jams on the second shot.

"Shit. Piece of useless American plastic! Inshallah!" She reaches for her pistol and makes a hasty retreat to the office and then the communications room.

As she enters she says, "The creatures are at the restaurant." She says. "I don't think our defenses are ready. I suggest everyone come here and we can use our firepower to advantage."

Ellen and Jenny are moments behind. "They are here."

Azadeh hands her pistol to Ellen as she tries to unjam the AR-15. She grabs a multifunctional tool from Mr. Foos kit and begins to quickly take the rifle apart.

(OCC- note that only two running zombies remain. Behind them are four walkers. But behind them (now about 3/4 mile away, are about 180 more).

On the Road to the North-

Michael turns right and heads east. The road is empty and flat, gravel and little more. When he looks back he doesn't see the creatures that had been chasing him, but when he looks over his shoulder, to the south and west, he can see them, more distant now, but still in pursuit.

He continues to drive East he sees a sign that says Brownson and below that Western Nebraska Technical College. It points to the South and other dirt road moves in that direction. The road also continues to the East and there is a sign that says, to Route 385.

As he thinks about his decision, a helicopter, what looks like a state trooper's helicopter, flies nearby, apparently in the direction of Brownson. Further East he can see what seems to be a rust tinged fog rising up near the road and what looks like a pickup truck that has gone into a ditch. There seems to be a man stumbling in his direction. It is too far away to pick out the details.

In the Garage-

Baldin looks at his watch. "Let's go, let's go. We got less than five minutes to get there and we're going to be late." He yells from the truck.

Randall, seeing Bo's condition, goes to help but cannot help the wound "Looks like the bullet proof vest took most of the power of the bullet but he's bleeding through the chest. He needs a doctor.[/url]

Duke and Robert help Gary open the Truck and wheel in a barrel of gasoline. Bob knows that this is less than 1/3 of the capacity for a Bell 407 helicopter, but there is little more than can be done.

Kimberly looks at Bo quickly and sees what Randall isn't doing correctly and tells him how to properly bandage the wound. Randall nods, and is able to stop Bo from bleeding. "Patch him up and give him a shot of this." She says to Randall, "and that will get him up. But let him rest a bit first." Then she chambers a round of her shotgun and gets on the truck.

Outside the dogs are barking nervously at something....

OCC- Wallace? Bob? Also don't forget about Sean Blank.

In the Diner-

Rita is uncertain of what to do. "Earl's dead? Fuck."

Dave, from his angle can see that Beth has a pistol hidden.

Tisha is still crying and listening to Willie. She looks up and screams.

At first everyone looks to Tisha, but then they follow her gaze out the window.

At that moment one of the creature crashes through the window of the diner.
