Ideas for Obsidian spin off?

Bethesda will still attempt to satisfy everyone. That's their thing, their primary goal, their main aim, their signature. They'll hit all three targets but the centre of none.

The only way a spin-off is going to come out is if they have enough spare time and money left over, and even then it might go to one of the new Bethesda subsidiaries instead.

Gotta say I was never a fan of the idea of returning to LA/the Boneyard. I'd like to see more of the frontier. Maybe go North toward Washington so we can get that Nuclear Winter or South beyond Baja.

I think it would maybe be beneficial to use the Van Buren ending with the nukes too (Though Lonesome Road already kind of took that, in a toned down way.) since it could curb the growth of civilizations before Bethesda forces yet another ten year leap onto us. Because honestly, how many decades do you think it'll take before the NCR's frontier reaches farther than the Obsidian Team will be able to travel for reference? And how many excuses can you make for not having the locals of the area form their own functioning governments beyond a few feeble towns? (And one unifying bastion, in New Vegas' case.)

Personally I'd love a Northern Midwest Fallout in the same stylistic vein of Fargo or something. But that's probably out of reach for Obsidian and I'm not certain if the Midwest being new untamed frontier is even viable depending on how much of Tactics is canon. Can't imagine they didn't also expand.

This idea may have been done in something else before, but I thought if there were to be super mutants used in the next title, it is sad seeing the ones linger with no leader. It would be cool if there was an attempt of recreating the master. Not as a main quest, or even a side quest, but something that is happening to the wastes. Not just a simple rebuild either. Let's say the construction was partially successful, the master is up and running, but not isolated to a single overseer station, but the entire vault and some of the outside. A breeding ground for new freaks and monsters and a intense boss with incredible powers. It would also be a bit terrifying exploring a living building. perhaps the construction failed and it perverted the super-mutants more. Or maybe it is just a really bad/obvious idea :(

One way i would like a new Fallout would be one similar to Mount & Blade, with you being a mercenary on the Wasteland.
You just choose your background, maybe your reason for adventuring on the Wastes and bam, straight into some kind of mission.
As time goes own your name gets recognized, major factions try to recruit you (Similar with NV) or you go on as a lone wolf working for whomever pays more.

I also prefer the character creation section being separate from the gameplay, i.e., how it was done in FO1 and FO2. For the character's background, I'd like them to have been raised by some Desert Ranger-like group or some small, tight-knit community like New Canaan.
