Igromania magazine preview

That's actually the scan quality talking (or print quality), not necessarily the screens

I'll probably skip the new BM until I do my Kenshiro run. Then the random limb explosions will be perfect. You are already dead.

Yeah, but I would sort of prefer it this way though. I spent last night taking snapshots of high res videos from E3 and the game doesn't look so good as that. It's more the hit and miss you guys talked in the Atomic Ninjas preview, some moments are pretty awesome, some are confusing and don't quite work.

Am also not taking bloody mess perk. Never took it in originals, won't take it here.

Those screens look very nice, hopefully they will emerge in better quality soon (around GC time?).

I like this pic. With the bottle in the hand and the kind of looking down, It looks like the NPC is alive and so on. But I also feel sad about it, because I know that it will later ingame definitely be more like Oblivion NPCs...

Kinda looks like he may be wearing the "mad max" outfit from the original games here.

The screens we've seen before have spanned a range from green to brown, as do these ones. One guess is that green is daytime and brown is dawn/dusk.

Pretty sure someone said that it was location based. So out in the wasteland it's more orange, and as you head into the city it gets paler and cooler colored.

So I guess there will be some sort of greenery like grass and trees in the game since there exists large bodies of fresh water like rivers for some unfathomable reason?

Im thinking this must be the coast they are talking about and not a river.

I hope...

I doubt there is gonna be much greenery just out in the environment. Anyway, why would it be a problem if parts of the Potomac still had a little water left?

Considering that DC is more or less not very far from the Atlantic Ocean, and it is directly on a major river, and ice caps keep melting...

I'm reading the article right now and there's a lot in it that hasn't mentioned before. For starters the clam thing in the river is described like this:

"Once, after diving in a river, we saw something that looked like a gigantic clam. When we swam closer to it, it suddenly opened an eye. Panicking, we swam back to the shore. The thing followed us. WE watched for a good 30 minutes. Eventually it came on shore, slowly pulled out its legs and arms from the clam, now being human sized, and, slowly, charged at us"

more to come in a few hours

Well Chesapeake Bay is well known for it's tasty blue crabs. After the apocalypse though, blue crabs eat YOU!

Anyway, I can see how a wide and flat body like that could be mistaken for a clam if the legs were all sunk down in the mud.

I'm still hoping the Crab People are a concept art-thing only, but most of the things I laughed at in the concept art (the non-50's looking sentry bot, the Cthulhu-multi tongue thing) have been shown to be in the game, so I fear the worst.

It also makes me wonder if Bethesda will repeat the mistakes of oft-repeated generic banter, y'know, "the Fighter's Guild is recruiting" and "I saw a mudcrab the other day" becoming "the BoS is recruiting" and "I saw crab people the other day"

Honestly, considering how much that was mocked in Oblivion, you'd hope they dropped it.

Yes, very natural:

Nick: Hi Mike, how's it going?
Mike: It's ok. I saw crab people the other day.
Nick: Oh, that's interesting. Tell me more.
Mike: Well, they were like... people. But....crab. You know... like.... crab.... people.

More like crap people.
