I'm Sorry for supporting Bethesda

Nothing wrong with being a former Bethesda fan. Most Bethesda fans end up this way, myself included. That being said due to you having enjoyed Fallout 3, you will have to pay the "Terrible Taste Tax" to continue posting. Please submit your credit card #, bank account info and etc. to my inbox at your earliest convenience.
We also need your address, first name, last name, social security number, signature and mother's maiden name. Thank you!

mother's name.
I've already got that.

Welcome, @FlashBash64! Your path to discovery is identical to mines, nice to see someone who found the quality in older Fallouts in the exact same order that I did.

Nothing to be sorry about. I pre-ordered Fallout 4, with the Season Pass (don't start people, I already got burned for this), and was sorely disappointed with the game. Now I know not to buy Fallout games from Bethesda in the future. That's normal, if you buy a game and you don't like it, you don't buy future installments. It's the standard consumer's procedure, and there's nothing to be ashamed of by going through it.

Slightly off topic, there is word that TESVI would be in Hammerfell because of the whole "Swordsinger trademark" thing (If you have any references please share them) Which does not surprise me. Another Human location with human architecture with lore established in Morrowind. Just another lazy game made by Bethesda. It makes me sad to say it, but I probably won't buy that either.

It's an IP they started, and an IP they've decided to streamline themselves. I don't really mind, even if I know I'll probably be disappointed by the even more severe lack of depth in the next one. It's not nearly as bad as with Fallout, where they've actively taken an old series and screwed it up. They can smash up their car all they want, but they shouldn't get to take someone else's vintage sports car and smash it up beyond restoration.

Well, then this would be the appropiate point *heavy breathing* to say, we've told you this would happen guys :P

Happy to see ya bunch of cranky old farts has given us young, dumb upstarts our comeuppance :lalala:

Kind of. It is their IP, but most of the "content" comes from one guy that doesn't work with them any more. He doesn't get credited when they reuse his work. They are fucking up "his ideas" constantly and technically they are riding someones car. Who do you think wrote Morrowind? Todd? DMML. I have a right to be disappointed in them raping ES too. And they will. They are doing the same thing to ES, the just acquired the IP differently.

Huh. Who is this "one guy"? I'm not sure but I may have heard of him before.

Of course. Now back to topic!

Too late, I've gotten us off again.

Maybe it was Kirk something?

Though I didn't think he wrote much of Morrowind...

Michael Kirkbride. He did leave during the development of Morrowind, and to be honest, Morrowind's lore was also taken from existing ES lore, so he would have had a significant impact on Morrowind anyways.

From what I've seen of reports, interviews and all the other stuff, Todd Howard strikes me as the kind of guy who would be good at holding a team together and pushing a project in a direction, but not the one who chooses what direction. In a better team under better circumstances, I'm sure he could be doing better than what we've seen so far. Truth be told though, it's all guesswork.

However you have to admit, a lot of Morrowind's lore is unique to the game. It really creates the history of TES.

Most of that still goes to Mark Nelson and Ken Rolston, from what I've inferred. Rolston left after the completion of Oblivion and Nelson left during Fallout 3's development. I have a feeling Fallout 3 brought about a relatively significant change in the development team at BGS.

I give credit to people like Todd Howard because I consider good marketing to also be important. Same reason I would give credit to Steve Jobs at Apple even though it's known he wasn't all that great on the technical side of things. Getting words and ideas out there - good or bad, true or false - is still what I would consider a skill.

So they're talented, good for them! Shame they left though.

Agreed, he knows what he's doing even if it's not good.

Technically ~It's more like paying someone to build [sell] them a custom hotrod, and it's theirs to do with as they wish; and the same goes for whomever they sell it to. (The down-side to "work for hire".)

Quite a few of Marvel Comics mainstays are the work of Jack Kirby.

Most of the time, I tend to picture NMA as the cynical, sarcastic, grumbling character that rolls their eyes in exasperation every time something goes wrong and sighs heavily about the state of things, rather than a hatred-filled old man. Neither would I describe the Codex as the old man - that's too moderate and subdued a comparison for the blazing fury that they are.

Oh, I didn't realise this is a thing.

Honestly, I don't understand why there is a need to apologise. These are random people on the Internet, what do you owe them?

Or is this some sort of post just to gain some sort of acceptance?

Anyway, I'm new here, hello.

We don't require your acceptance here, just a nice dose of critical thinking.

And thanks for ruining my conceived notions of Godhood and rule!

Hi!
