Industrial music and related genres

RonPerlman

First time out of the vault
Let us all argue what real industrial is and whether or not it has died or whether it was ever alive to begin with.

I am a fan of KMFDM, Acumen Nation, Cyanotic, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Suicide Commando, etc.

This thread will turn into a nine inch nails thread in T minus one post.

KMFDM, Ministry, and Skinny Puppy (also Ogre's solo shit) all rule.

The new Ministry record is crucial. It's all covers but that shit is awesome.

Godflesh. Period.

J.K. Broadrick is one of my all-time favorite musicians but i wouldn't call his work "industrial" (probably mostly out of hatred for just about everything that fits into that category). i think Godflesh/God/Techno Animal/Jesu/Final... all of his stuff transcends what is normally considered industrial by miles and miles of sludgy goodness.

You may call it "Susan" for all I care, as long as you agree it's awesome.

Godflesh is completely fucking awesome.

(btw, heard the new Jarboe & J.K.B. album? also FTW!)

THREAD HIJACK FTW!!

One word - DARK Industrial. All other related genres are utter shit (in my opinion). Unfortunatly, I still am at the beginning of my journey down this road, but so far I lovh a couple of songs, examples -

Combichrist - Fuck that shit
God Module - False Pretense
Grendel - Zombie Nation

Dark Industrial = Evil Techno = FTW

I prefer dimly lit industrial

I'm okay with it myself. Lost a friend to industrial music er...the raving scene. He owns a mustang, his favorite car, sometimes I think he can lose himself in a sea of glowsticks, mascara and horrible half shaven haircuts.(he has one of those) Go figure.

Godflesh- Streetcleaner greatest album of all time

Ministry, Laibach, and old Skinny Puppy

Combichrist is pretty good

Since reading this topic semi interested in this type of music, still trying to get the feel of it, any recommendations? Besides the one's already posted?

There are some industrial sound elements after the first refrain there.

1860 quality posts.

Rammstein is pretty nice. It's pure fun to hear their songs.
