Tonight on In the Vault: Michael Lattanzia, adept QA tester.<blockquote>Nobody makes games as big as ours and our testers are vital to our success. After we shipped Oblivion, many of our testers could troubleshoot and debug quest issues better than the designers could.

What is the best part about working as a tester? The worst part?
The worst part of being a tester is how repetitive it can get. Most people rarely spend more than 100 hours or so on a game, but as a tester we have to spend literally thousands of hours on the same game before it’s released. That quest that was really fun the first time through seems a lot less interesting when you’re playing it again for the 20th time.

The best part is everything else. I love getting to see the changes a game goes through over the course of the development. It’s also very entertaining seeing some of the crazy bugs that pop up along the way.</blockquote>My fondest memory of this episode is a rare <s>Sea Dogs II</s> <s>Pirates of the Caribbean</s> Sea Dogs II poster with a pirate chick holding a gun. Or at least that's what I think it is. Join us tomorrow as we cast the bones to see whether or not Michael Lattanzia has ever played the first two Fallouts and/or applies any such knowledge in his work.

I think it's rather indicative of the direction these "Inside the Vault" pieces have been going.

The worst part is, Miguel actually played Fallout and beat it with a diplomatic character twice.

Miguel redesigned SPECIAL twice and keeps two pen and paper campaigns running.

God, if a fun quest gets boring after 20 playthroughs, imagine what an Oblivion quest must be like after 20 playthroughs...

Damn... just... whatever...

Reading this guy's answers just doesn't give the game any hope with the quests... "Its like a paper dog chasing an asbestos cat through hell."

Well on a good note I found a solution to this dilemma. All that needs to be done now is to bang my head against the wall till my IQ drops about 50 points or more. Maybe then it'll be "fun". :wall:

"What is -- IS"

"What is -- IS"

I appreciate this coverage from the safety of the fan site pages.

The 'just folks' news intent allows enough back story through that
one can see how the individual ordinary collaborates to produce the corporate extra ordinary.

'Silk purse out of a sow's ear' too intense a critique, perhaps

a forest for the trees sort of 'thang',

from which woods harbor black or brown bears, and from witch woods spring forth flying monkeys.

Head Banging

@ Spanna

Head banging might realign your synapses, new insights await, right around the corner.

Be careful some self abuse can become habit forming.

Might wake up one day standing in a room of people with flattened fore heads, moaning,

"Thanks Miguel for letting me speak, my name is Spanna, and I AM a -Head Banger- "

The room choruses the Ramones:

oo-whee, do it one more time for me!
Ooo-whee, do it one more time for me!

Can't stop stop that girl there she goes again I really really love
To watch her watch her headbangin' Suzy is a headbanger
Her mother is a geek
Do it one more time for me Ooo-ooo-whee! Ooo-ooo-whee!

Headbanging, Headbanging, Headbanging, Headbanging!
Headbanging, Headbanging, Headbanging

Your first step in twelve awaits ...

all kidding aside, it's logical to interview the janitor when you see how important the coffee boy is...

4too - you are now officially my favorite poster here and perhaps anywhere.

Yep, who knows where the next stream of Bethesda talent comes from.
