I have heard from people that everybody thinks we're toxic even most of the admins do think it.

So should we just try to enjoy modern Fallout and stop resisting change against it?

There is no way I can enjoy "modern" fallout games because I hate FPS. It is the game genre I hate the most (second is platformers). While my favorite gaming genre is turn based cRPG, that try to closely emulate P&P.

Now you can see why I can't enjoy "modern" Fallout games. It turned my favorite genre into my least favorite genre.

That is also why I still rank Fallout and Fallout 2 above New Vegas., in terms of gameplay.

A lot of people also say that the new direction Star Wars and Star Trek are going is good and that we should stop living in the past or move aside so that others can finally enjoy these.

For all the things Bethesda fans accuse us of they have proven themselves in the end to be just as nasty.

If these people enjoy Bethesda's Fallout so much why should our opinion trouble them? Shouldn't they just ignore us then?
Or is it perhaps because they have a degree of doubt about their fandom and because they don't want to look if it comes from themselves that they accuse NMA from causing this doubt instead?

Sort of a "You make us think about Bethesda and their Fallout games in a not positive and critical manner and as a result we can no longer enjoy the games without thinking about the arguments you have brought up why Fallout 3 and 4 are bad."

Like how you can never go back after hearing some inconvenient facts about a hobby or an interest that makes you question why you liked these in the first place.

Who is everyboby? We haven't met, them and I. And what are these 'modern' Fallout games? Vegas? I see it more like a hommage game rather than a Fallout, but you know, some days I feel the same even about Fallout 2. Tactics? Almost the same, except I didn't find it in me to play it more than once, don't even remember when.

Ah, toxic, toxic... Is it me or this word became the popular uninformed word for all the internet's suckers?
I seem to remember, during one of my internet 'moments' before, 2013 or 2014, maybe even before, I was predicting the disasters that open world was going to be on the witcher 3 story telling, and I turned out to be right, and of course I was a very toxic person.
I think back then, I just assumed it was the word in fashion because Dandelion/Jaskier was using it in the witcher 2, speaking of things he know nothing about as usual, and being wrong as usual. Like a internet sucker eh, so it was very poetic.
But since then, is the word toxic everywhere or what? Is it the first word they teach at school nowadays?

I sure as hell ain't gonna force myself to enjoy Fallout 3 and 4 when i utterly despise them.

It seems we reached a point where valid criticism is now considered "toxic", which is fucking stupid. People bitching about someone being "toxic" is just as bad, if not worse, than someone actually being toxic.

And the "resisting change" argument some of the Bethesda fans love to throw at people who despise Fallout 3 and 4. Yeah, i sure as hell am gonna resist change that consists of destroying the themes of the franchise and dumbing down the rpg elements, writing, characters and story.

I'm probably the only person on this forum who doesn't 100% hate the direction Fallout's gone in. New Vegas was my first, so hating it would be a bit counter-intuitive. I can certainly understand these guys' perspective, though, even if I don't completely share it.

In fact, the only die-hard classic Fallout fan I'd call truly "toxic," doesn't even seem to be on this forum. At least, I haven't seen his name around here. And in the interests of not getting banned, I'm not gonna say his name.

As for the folks on this site being toxic, well... again, I can see why that label might be applied, but I think the correct term might be "overly passionate." They at least haven't resorted to name-calling, as far as I can tell.

I don't think you're the only one. Quite a few here consider New Vegas to be the high point of the series, and even more certainly love New Vegas, even if still disagreeing with the gameplay changes imposed on it.

How does one start to enjoy something he previously couldn't, just like that? And why on earth would "modern Fallout" need or deserve to be forcibly enjoyed by those who haven't previously? What is the reason to try more than already has been tried?

Also, about the topic title.... What there to be "wrong" about?

It's one of those words that has no thought put into its use, it's just meant to paint something as bad without question.
It's not that we're trying not to enjoy newer Fallout titles, they just don't hold up as well to the originals (and New Vegas). Some folks here hold strong opinions, doesn't mean they don't have a point. And although I am generalising a bit here, a lot of the comments I've seen people make about NMA tend to have been made by fanboys who take everything critical to heart and are honestly guilty of the behaviour they claim NMA is full of.

You want to enjoy modern Fallout games? Good, I mean that. It's great if you can find enjoyment in them. I just don't think Bethesda does a good enough job. If they were making parodies of the Fallout series/post-nuclear world genre then maybe they'd be on to something, but they're not. Bethesda in my opinion do not see the substance in the Fallout series, what made it appealing in the first place, they just flanderize and miss the point.

I had fun playing Fallout 3, but that fun was destroyed by Fallout New Vegas. Now I can only have fun playing Fallout 3 with the improvements of Fallout New Vegas.

Also by modern Fallout games I meant Fallout 4 and any other after 4, FO3 is 10 years old, I don't count 10 year old games as modern.

Yep, for me there are three Fallout games categories. Classic (Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout tactics), Old (Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas) and Modern (Fallout 4 and any new ones). In 7 years Fallout 4 will be part of the Old category.

    For me there is:

To think people whined about CTB in Tactics...I didn't like it until I recalled Commandos.

In Tactics you can literally switch it to TURNBASED then back again to set your party up if required...

I tolerate FPS Fallout if it is still a RPG. I won't beat a dead horse.
