Not sure what to make of such a schizophrenic article that condemns the game for not feeling "alive", then praises the atmosphere. Also, I'm not sure why having some Oblivion mechanics will automatically disappoint Fallout fans, I suppose I had never realized the two fanbases were mutually exclusive. Sounds to me like Oblivion dialogue is pretty much the same as Fallout: the game world pauses, we see a close up of the NPC's face, and select from a list of dialogue options. Let me know if I'm wrong. Also, having never played the game I can't really argue with the PipBoy being unintuitive, but from screens I've seen it looks pretty straightforward, and I don't think I've seen any other previewers complain about it. Strange.
I don't think I know anyone who thought the Matrix sequels or the Star Wars prequels were anything great; your seems to be the popular opinion in fact.
