Josh Sawyer plays New Vegas for charity

So you would rather take the lore of the guy who had no hand in Fallout 2, over the lore of the guy who actually had a hand in it, simply becuase you dislike Avellone's views of how the future of the series should go? How petty.

Also, according to Fallout 2, Mrs. Bishop got kicked out of Vault City for using jet years before Myron supposedly invested it.

And Myron himself states in Fallout 2 that jet exists because pre-war companies developed a protein extract they had intended for humans, but fed to cows after they discovered any amount of bacterial infection caused it to become an amphetamine.

Humans have been huffing shit to get high since ancient times, and with how terribly scummy pre-war companies were, and given the fact even the fumes of cow shit are enough for someone to get high, the likelihood none of them discovered, or tried to exploit, this new drug is basically zero. Pre-war jet would also explain why Mrs. Bishop could get kicked out of Vault City for using it, despite the fact Myron supposedly hadn't invented it yet.

It's called different interpretations. Every person has their own.

It still does not change the fact that Myron made the first publicly known form of post-War Jet.

OFC.

Just like Alessia was the first recognized Dragonborn, yet Miraak existed before her.
Like I said, officially recognized, Miraak may be the first but he is not officially recognized since he was a traitor and all (though I did like the idea of the First opposing the Last Dragonborn, shame execution was bland but that's a different topic).

Besides, official lore has established how actual Jet was Myron's doing (perhaps before him, all they did was sniff Brahmin dung) so there's nothing wrong with calling out Bethesda for lore inconsistencies that people may brush off.

Now that's out of the way, thanks to the OP for sharing this. From the starting bits I'm seeing, it's nice to know that Sawyer also wanted more Legion content and post-game content.

Might check it out later myself but until then, the only new thing I've seen mentioned anywhere is here: http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/inde...discussion-thread.84849/page-148#post-4828988
He may finally get to work on something Darklands-like.
So far there's no cite-able sources for the Darklands thing sadly from what I'm picking up. Aside from that, there is a lot of decent discussion on Obsidian there (along with the usual scrutiny and salt I expected from Codex, kudos to them for that).

I don't feel like it matters whether Avellone wants to retcon something from his game. That doesn't change canon, whether it would explain away some inconsistencies or not. Also, even if huffing the same fumes existed before Myron, I find it very believable that something like Jet would not be on pre-war pharmacy shelves. Hospitals may use morphine, but that doesn't mean they would hand patients a needle, spoon, and a bag of heroin.

Myron's a kid chemist who showed a New Reno gang how to mass produce a drug. Whether there was a pre-war patent registered on the same chemicals is irrelevant.

One of our (TTW) team members asked him if he knew about TTW (Tale of Two Wastelands).
Josh Sawyer said:
I do know about Tale of Two Wastelands and I think it's cool. So for those who don't know that's a mod that combines; you can play Fallout 3 in New Vegas', engine more or less (...) and I think you can sorta travel between the two wastelands and that's pretty, that's pretty cool.
:lalala:

Alright, that bug Sawyer mentioned about Orion's naked corpse flopping out of the Enclave Vertibird on Hoover Dam after killing him in For Auld Lang Syne was pretty hilarious.
:lmao:

I'm pretty sure they don't really want to be screw up by bethesda again.

That would be incorrect I'd wager because Obsidian is always just shy of bankruptcy. They would want to work on Fallout: New Seattle Boneyard Boogaloo because it would be a license to print money even if they really wished they'd gotten the share of royalties their contract ALMOST got them.

I mean one of them is still at Obsidian, playing a Fallout game on a livestream, calling out dumb lore contradictions and not working for bethesda so....

GAS MCA, WRITER WARS NOW!
seriously though with some of the recent stuff he's said/done is Avellone even the same person anymore or a synth?

For a writer you have a bad sense of humor, but that's no surprise here, since it's the age of information, everyone can become a writer if they wish.

This. Not to mention no one at Obsidian had any hard feelings at Bethesda over losing out on the extra money from NV in the first place.

This entire conspiracy of "There is no way they would work for Beth again after that incident" is hilarious to read.

It's business. Of course, they'd want to get more money and royalties to keep themselves afloat.

Pillars (and Tyranny from the looks of it) is buying them more stability at least so Paradox seem to be doing them a solid (or rather Obsidian is meeting Paradox's expectations).

What's even more pathetically hilarious is wanting to laugh at people for having these conspiracy theories since at the time, Bethesda did screw Obsidian over. There would have been a lot of bad blood at the time, just carefully masked by tactful and diplomatic responses (especially since they almost folded over since they were denied royalties and all then).
