Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
It's free, it's fun and you can do it with friends everywhere you wish. Plus, it can keep you fit if you stay at home and have no time to go out, for example while you're studying to an exam.

Here's a nice vid about the basics:

If you have any other propositions for creative things you can do in free time, feel free to post them here.

P.S. I ask you not to write stuff like "wow that's gay, I'd never do such crap" or "man, I got better things to do", just ignore this thread if you find it lame.

It's a dance, like Jackson's moonwalk. I learnt it recently and do it on occasion. It helps me fight boredom when I have to sit and home and study, it's refreshing to take a 15 minutes brake to do it. Or when I walk through the main square with friends.

omg this is going to get bashed. I personally spoke in favour of this dance once... oh the horror..

My ignorance is understandable, as the only 'dance' i perform is headbanging...

Seriously, if you want to dance/exercise/fight boredom isn't it much better just to practice breakdancing? You'd probably get laughed at less

I guess they call it breakdance for a reason. You break stuff, your bones as well probably...

Seriously now, it looks like Riverdance done wrong. And I'd rather do Riverdance than this.

Heh, I knew it.

Anyway, if you have *something more interesting and less gay* why don't you tell me? I'd be glad to check it out (and not breakdance or riverdance, no le parkur or what the hell it is called also). It's easier to criticise an idea than thinking up something yourself. I was curious if all you do in your free time is drinking or hanging out with friends (nothing wrong with that mind you) or some sports. I mean the less ordinary things.

What? When you walk through the main square with friends you stop and start hopping around?

Care to post a video of you taking a break from studying by doing that little 15 minute (!) dance?

I would, but I don't have a camera. Seriously. If I'm bored I play music and do it for 15 minutes or so. It's a good exercise (yes, I know push ups are probably better). BTW - didn't I asked you guys to be merciful on me lame doing noob stuff and telling others to do it? I know a lot you think this ridiculous, but you don't need to tell me that. I already know it.

Anyway - still waiting for your ideas.

I'm actually seriously considering getting into parkour. I thought about running to get in better shape but now I think parkour might be more interesting.

Don't. You'll get serious injuries in about 2 years. It stretches your muscles and tendons too much. Running is far better, providing you'll get proper shoes and don't run on concrete.

I'm going to start doing some Kung Fu lessons during the week. And in the weekends mostly saturday, I go to a place where I play basketball, soccer, tennis, also I go swimming to the pool, and there is a river nearby where I can go out in a row boat. I use sunday to rest.

Something more interesting and less gay, hmm it's not dancing but plenty of exercise, go play airsoft, then you can shoot each-other rather than jump around like a mime on a trampoline.

I run around with guns and shoot steel plates and clay pigeons. I don't know how much exercise it really provides, but it sure cures boredom and stress, and I don't get laughed at as much as I would doing that dance.

Then again, to each his own.

If I still lived in Eastern Europe I'd totally be into that. The commieblocks are just designed for it. What else would I be doing all day? It's not like there's jobs available.
