Leaked pics of Fallout 4s design documents

So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs
The other day, Fallout 4s design documents were leaked to the world. At long last people got to see the creative process behind the game, and what it was like in it's very conception. These design documents show what Bethesda was thinking when they made every decision, and pretty much describe the entire game, check them out for yourselves.

Looks like someone at BGS got his FEV-II upgrade. Where's your oozing perfection now, dear Einhanderc7? Look what it's done! /s

This is sadly accurate. The number of quests that boil down to "kill loot return" is insulting. Not to mention it has such few original quests, all of which are poorly written.

The terminals in the Hubris Comics building actually discuss dumbing down the Silver Shroud franchise in terms that would upset the loyal fans, which is so ironic (or perhaps self-aware) that it hurts.

Judging by some of the stuff, I have a feeling that there are a bunch of the lower-level programmers and stuff, who are not happy about the direction their games are going.

This note and that song it's all over but the crying were put in the game to as a big "fuck you" to fallouts original fanbase. I would bet my balls on it. That lyric "it's all over but the cryin' and nobody's cryin' but you" speaks directly to me. I swear beth is actively trolling us at this point.

When I think Fallout 4's design all I can think of is that they fell into total George Lucas Syndrome head first.

Lucas's Philosophy for the Phantom Menace was "Eh, who cares if our story is melodramatic, boring and thin? As long as we get some poor smuck intern to spend 15 hour days modeling every compartment on this stupid space donut, the nerd appreciation points™ will even out somehow because visual fidelity > all other aspects somehow because of the special math in my visual storytelling head."

It never actually once occured to me that the song may mean that.

Probably doesn't though, I mean there are only so many songs they hadn't yet included though, and it's Ink Spots so that equals bonus points.

And if you think about it, we aren't the only ones crying about it. While with FO3, almost everyone thought it was brilliant, with FO4 you consistently see complaints about the Dialogue System, and it got the second lowest Metacritic User Reviews out of any Fallout game ever made(5.3), (Note that the lowest was POS with 4.0). Not to mention that it has the lowest satisfaction rating of any Fallout game available on steam(80%). I think This is finally the point when people will no longer tolerate Bethesda's BS.

Eh, I'd say it's more like the title that makes people cautious rather than drive them away. A lot of them have now woken up and taken a good hard look at Bethesda and called them out on their shit but they're still fans and believe that they can still change and produce a good game. It'll take another fuck up from Bethesda to really drive them away.

I mean, there are still people who believe in Konami despite everything that's happened.

Don't worry, it's Bethesda. They will fuck up again for sure.
Will people wake up? No, you need a better game to get their attention. We need Battlefield to kill CoD.

There certainly is a kind of human bitterness in it, and it would not surprise me at all if it actually is a butt-hurt from the reaction to FO3

I still remember the "reassurance" back before the game was out, when Beth went all "Relax, it won't be oblivion-with-guns at all! Remember, we too are big fans of the franchise, and many of us got the original games installed on our laptops!"

It then got worse with New Vegas serving as a "this is how it's done!" and further reactions from the old fan base, just confirming all over again, what a big target miss Beth performed.

Ever since, Beth has to be both concious and deliberate about it - Fallout is no longer for the Fallout fans, but for whoever new fan-base can be gathered.

Considering the general reactions to BF1 compared to Infinite War... this could be the year that happens, lol

I felt like the whole Hubris Comics area was somehow trying to tell us something...the whole idea of the franchise going a way a person didn't want because the higher-ups thought it would make more money...I figured it might have been a coincidence until it said something about the character getting a British butler...sounds a bit like Codsworth doesn't it? It's kind of interesting really. If you haven't already (and still have the game installed...I sure as hell don't) you should read some of the stuff around the area. You'll see some pretty damn interesting parallels. IDK, but I'm getting the feeling the majority of the Bethesda staff are pretty fucking disappointed in FO4. I think someone made a thread a little while back showing how the Bethesda staff playing on Twitch didn't seem all that thrilled with the game.

Read through that on Vault Wiki. Only the part about "We need to make sure that our core fans are evangelists about this" and the British Butler really seem relevant, the rest seems to just be talking about an unpopular casting choice.

Linky please!

Thank you, but I don't see the connection, I'd like to, maybe I missed something. You have to remember too that there is a video of Emil talking about all the things he loves about Fallout 1, and 2 yet none of those things are in the franchise now. Todd explains what role playing is and why player choice to change the outcome in micro and macro scale, yet none of their games do this. They seem to understand when they write or speak, but it is not seen in any of their games. Let's say there was a direct entry in a terminal that said, "I have worked for them for years, but they keep butchering everything the do, no beta testing in house, let the fans sort it out. And now they have me decorating the office with teddy bears. I hate my job." It wouldn't mean anything to me at this point. Pete is probably the best reference to what Emil and Todd are like as he is so bad at hiding that he is a douche bag.
