Location based death animations/real time rendered injuries

PPU is currently a fifth-wheel. I rather have a dedicated sound card to minimize the load of CPU in coding sound effect than having another card which has not much use other than showing gimmick effect (and eating the space of my comp.)

Valve's new game, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_(computer_game), is proof what a game engine can do without relying on a PPU.
With the upcoming quad-core I wish game developer can fully utilise these core for physic and AI. :D
