Location, Location - Where do you post from?

I as well like that painting DB. Actually I quite like the moon one too, I'm a sucker for nursery rhymes, what can I say.

*insert joke about my liking nursery rhymes here*

Hmm, you just summed up why I don't like fine artists. I did art and design and they always try and ask you about your muse and what your work truely means.
You should probably never visit the Tate Modern in London if you don't like pretentious arty bullshit.

I appreciate all kinds of art, just not what they have to say about their art. I'd rather know how they achieved a technique than hear about how they feel about a work.

That's pretty cool-- it looks like a book or movie cover. Any specific intention in mind, or is it more "abstract" or just playing around?

I'm always playing around. In this case it was part two of an attempt to emulate one of my favorite printmakers - Patrick Nagle. His work was very flat and monochromatic. So I decided to try and use acrylic on canvas to get the same feel of his work. His work almost always showed full torso images of women. I wanted to key on the face.

This was my first attempt:

DammitBoy - sometimes its difficult to know whether or not you're being serious - the moon painting could have been painted by a father for their daughter, or a douchebag just having some fun. But considering the fact you know who Patrick Nagle is and your painting seems to be inspired by his work, I suppose your telling the truth. :salute:

Patrick Nagle.

I hang them side by side, kinda a set. One has watercolor for the eyes and lips, the other is all acrylic.

I try to leave serious for those with sticks up their butts like kharn and sander. Patrick Nagle was awesome - his stuff is serious graphic design, everything plotted out. Duran Duran sucks donkey dick btw...
