Looking for a cRPG...

Where'd That 6th Toe Come From?
Having just finished FO1 and 2 (again), I'd like to try out something new. Now I've been looking at reviews, user reviews etc but I'd like to get some recommendations from you guys.

Surprisingly I haven't played Planescape: Torment, and it looks pretty good from what I've read. Should I give this game a go?

I had tried Baldur's Gate, but I didn't really like that game a lot, might have been the setting which put me off, kinda like in Arcanum, where the setting of industrial age + magic just didn't appeal to me.

So should I find a decade old shop and search for Planescape? And any other similar game which you would suggest?

Thank you.

If you liked the combat of Fallout, I'd highly recommend one of the X-COM games. Arcanum works, and unfortunately, thats about it. We cRPG lovers browse forums all day for a reason.

Well I'll be getting Planescape for sure, but I might also buy some other game. I mean these golden oldies are relatively cheap now a days.

I'll do some research about X-COM. And I'll take a look at Alien Earth and Wasteland. Never heard about the last two though!

Any more suggestions welcome, I'll be going to the gaming store on Tuesday.

X-Com is arguably one of the best PC games ever created.

I wasted many hours of my teenage years playingg that game.

Alien Earth?
I played it but that really isn't an RPG.
Well it wasnt a usual RPG more like post apoc point and click quest game with decent combat mechanics. I supose the psionic part could have been counted RPG part but I stuck to guns. The memorable part how you kill the alien that hunts you in the jungle. Hehe take that Predator wannabee.

You should. It's a brilliant game, although you might not like combat. I know I didn't.

Try eBay for Planescape. Other games? The Avernum series. I still have to finish the original Avernum (although I doubt I ever will, seeing I don't play a lot anymore and if I do, I just replay FO + FO2 + Arcanum), but it's a great game nonetheless.

Played Vtm:B a looong time ago. Nice game.

I had bought Planescape as you suggested, I just mate Ravel and got out of her maze.

The dialogue is very well done, though the game lacks in other areas such as combat and general gameplay. Still I'll move forward now, want to see how the story unfolds.

Well it is essentially an interactive book so the gameplay isn't the best. However it is solid and does what it's meant to do, which is usually hitting someone with an axe.

Yes.. Planescape, Arcanum, Baldurs, but there is also other game worth try: "Lionheart" it use SPECIAL system known from Fallouts!
