Nah, better finish the submarine first.

Whilst its in no way easier than what you're doing, it has the movement right.
If you could tell me how you mapped that texture onto the sprites I suspect we could help each other think.
My method:
I'll assume you have photoshop and imageready. Open up the FRM in PS and have that nice palette you've got handy. Where the paint brush is right click on that and use the Colour Replacement tool
. This lets you draw onto the image without loosing the shades of the pixels in the background. You'll have to lighten it quite a bit since it has a tendency to turn darker. Use the CRT and different shades to create a consistent cammo look. Be careful before using really light tones because you have to make them in exactly the same space.
All I've done is darken the armour and colour it mostly brown instead of green.
You'll have to ask the photoshop gurus if there is a better way of doing this but I think that you really need to work on the originals instead of just your copy. You need the movements - notice the subtle sway in my animation? That comes from the original FRM.
(I know you're going to say this version is too dark but meh - its a WIP)
Yes, the submarine is the priority at this moment (I don't count other unrelated to fallout projects/models ).Lexx said:Nah, better finish the submarine first.
to map the armor onto the inventory i used a camo picture i found on the net and used the cloning tool very carefully and it worked out great...

Can I ask how long it took to make each image?
If it was more than perhaps 5 minutes to put the cammo on I think you'll be wasting your time doing so many frames. And doing each frame is the only way you'll get the movement to look right I'm afraid...
Hotel California said:OK, I've sent you the Combat armour FRMs. You'll have to convert them to gif yourself. The Gattling gun sprites are HMCMBL - the suffix for shooting is K.
Scroll through those and do some easy ones to practice. Personally I'd recommend that you try the tan armour. Desert cammo would stand out better than the green stuff!

Cutting and pasting body parts will always result in a jerkiness that's noticeably less realistic than the original images. You may think the firing animations look okay, but the running frames will look like they were made in MS Paint if you keep using this method. It will be faster (and less frustrating) to simply apply the camo to each frame than fiddling with a copy-and-pasted image, trying to get the alignment and motion 'right'.
