From now got +10 maps and upper limit is maybe +50 so there is large place for you creation. U can even quick-made any new map and i fix it to beauty heh, so none talent is needed- just simple new ideas.
 
Lich, I have no spare maps, but designing a few would not be a problem. A proposal if I may: I presume you are a scripter or you you know someone who can script; i could "trade" some maps for some know-how. I can give you some maps for "free" anyway, just give me some more info about the areas you need.
 
Ok we can trade for knowledge, my best from now is about graphics but also i am scripter.
The locations may be very small but must have large humor or interesting new things, something new. If U got imagination but lack of skills- just tell me project and i made it.
Locations will be like random encounters but U can walk to them normally. Some part of them will be bigger but for sure +30 small areas.

Graphics is easy to made- just find interesting picture on net and made some improvement to put into game.
I think made most of new areas like this
-new scenery -new item -and some humor on it
(typical as random encounters but will be mark on map, easy to find)

yea, the angle it wrong. You can try and extract the graphics from any isometric game (the angle does not need to be exactley the same)

I can help with converting a few graphics if you need them, I can also send you the expanded toxic caves map (made by ColJack)

How far was that toxic caves mod in proces anyway? The screenies look pretty good back then.

I found world map can be enlarge in worldmap.txt file andybody got map tiles from fallout1? how will look map 2xbigger? :o
 
The dragon looks like a top down view.

For worldmaps, yes they can be made bigger, I'm using a satellite photo map of nothern CA that corpse made right now. There is another section that fits right on, which covers southern CA, and eventually aged FO1 locations.
 
The maps of Fallout and Fallout 2 do not match. Ironically this is true for any two maps of different origin nowadays because there's no standard for mapmaking, although I doubt that's the reason the designers chose to do it that way -- I suppose the real reason they don't match is that they never planned for both maps to be combined into one.

I suppose how the map looks with a factor of 200% depends on the resizing mode you use.

What do you mean they don't match? It doesn't matter anyways because we're not using the originals, we're using a satellite map of all of california for the world map. It has been tested and works in the full size, which can include both FO1 and FO2 locations.

I was merely mentioning it because Lich asked about the FO1 map.
 
oops sorry ... okay well corpse made a great map that is all of CA from satellite photo .... it looks like this.

There is lots of stuff that needs to be configured for new world maps though (worldmap.txt and city.txt), so it's not a 5 minute job to get a consolidated CA map working. We are using the top half of that map right now and working on adding the bottom half later (though it is known to work all together).
