As with the previous concept art, discriminating readers have taken a good look at the new concept art, and found the following:

All of the concept art is from the excellent googie arts online.

Thanks to Streak, Korusus and Tannhauser for spotting a lot of it and Tannhauser and FeelTheRads for doing the overlays.

In additional news, Steve "MrSmileyFaceDude" Meister cleared up something about when all these concepts were made:
Mullins made these pictures for us before Oblivion shipped.

Not really, I'm still unclear on what the purpose of these "concept arts" is. Considering they asked for them before Fallout 3 reached full production (perhaps), it might just be stuff for inspiration.

No, we can't.

We'd end up with pretentious, declarative monstrosities. Stick to facts.

I'm pretty impressed by the knowledge of these guys to "decypher" the background of this piece of concept art.

Very impressive.

Gotta love The Jetsons.

Too bad my Bethsoft Forums account ("Lord_Powerslave") was suddenly banned until December 2008 without a reason and with no warning whatsoever, so I can't debate on these pictures myself.

indeed.

i think no one would've guessed we'd go over those with such a fine-tooth comb. ^^

The figure on the left looks like a bearded guy, though it can just be an illusion, but I am sure that on the right there is someone using a stealth-boy.

Yes there's something odd about those areas. :)

The other thing I've noticed is the absence of art deco and streamline modern buildings.

Is it me or does that image tell a story that's right out of tactics.

Note- guards with heavy weapons, the vehicles, what appears to be soldiers celebrating a kill.

Yeah, it definately has a 'tactics' vibe to it.
