E3 of course show-cased a mass of games that we only follow with half an eye; Hard Truck, Hellgate: London, Bioshock. Not to skip on the news, here's a list of interviews, previews and screenshots as covered by RPGDot from the start of E3 'till now. Screenshots may overlap a bit.

Bioshock:
Hellgate: London (site redone):
Hard Truck Apocalypse: Rise of Clans

I dont believe it...a game that so far looks to be like a somewhat non-linear RPG with a deep story is getting major recognition from a mainstream venue?

I'm dreaming...

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

P.S.

No seriously it cant be true.

As well as some others, like IGN´s best RPG and gamespot´s best Action Adventure game. I also saw it get an award in other site for best FPS... ¬¬

I love genre defying games...

After wandering around the E3 floor during this years show, I have more faith in the industry than I had in a long time. There are still many games for casual gamers, but because most companies can produce high quality graphics now a days, they have to start focusing on the important stuff again. Gameplay, physics, AI and everything that makes games fun! As some site said, even if there weren't too many "mind blowing" games this year, the overall quality was high.

I didn't collect too many press kits, but I did pick up all the Russian ones - 1C, Buka and Akella all have lots of interesting games coming. Unlike Western publishers, the Russian ones go for turn-based games, point and click adventures and lots of other fun stuff. I'll write up a little on the games they display in the press kits in the coming week.

Any combat/strategy games that we should be looking out for?

Also, just out of curiosity, how come you don't have a Jagged Alliance section at Strategy Core? I started replaying JA2 the other day and your site was the first one I went to to see if there was anything new for the game - do other sites already have it too well covered or is there some other reason?

Yes, there are some. Not the category that had the strongest representation however. I'll try and write some on it tomorrow. We have a Disciples III interview coming, as well as Sword of the Stars and part 2 of the Jagged Alliance 3D one.

Well, I did play Jagged Alliance a long time ago. I liked it, but never played the sequel for some reason. I recently bought the gold, and enjoy it, but Fallout and X-COM has always been my focus. No one else in the staff has focused on JA either, so therefore we've left it for now. I would like someone to start building a Jagged Alliance community at StrategyCore however, so if anyone is interested...

I have considered speaking to the owners of some of the JA fan-sites however. If we could merge with for instance Bear's Pit, nothing would be better! That would be a kickstart for the JA community, but I doubt they're interested. Still, some of the JA sites seems to be struggling, so it should be a better option than dying.

Jagged Alliance is actually the closest thing to Fallout in terms of combat style and witty, peculiar characters than any game out there (except Torment and Vampire maybe) and it is (or rather was) as open ended as it gets.

Now that Mistland are in charge of the JA franchise it's as good as dead unfortunately. I don't know what kind of miracle should happen for them to actually turn out as even semi decent games.

Okay, just posted my impressions at StrategyCore if anyone's interested.

Cool, thanks. I'm happy to hear that JA3D is going to be turn based, I really had no idea what they were doing with it. I actually kind of like the fact that it's going to be more or less a remake of JA2 - by itself it would be pretty disappointing, but combined with an actual sequel it's great for fans of the game.
