Metro 2033 Re-Unveiled

The team behind Metro33 supposedly has members from GSC (creators of stalker), who left before 2006, I think.

I wouldn't get too excited about that. The team they left delivered Call of Pripyat, so maybe dumping them wasn't a bad idea.

With a railroaded second half of the game? Right...

Maybe level design isn't the word? Game design? But then again, their game design is responsible for artifact hunting and so on... Anyway, the second half of the game is pure crap, that's what I meant.

If you paid attention while reading the forum, you'd see which game I am referring to.

Here's a hint:

CALL OF PRIPYAT

:total fail:

EDIT:
Is it that awesome?! I thought it was only released in russia and eastern countries... I have high hopes for the little bastard, since it's a cross between SoC's level design and plot and CS's mechanics, and they don't need more than that, it will be AWESOME.

Yes, it is.

Kudos to a fellow STALKER fanatic who imported a copy and let me play it.

It's awesome. Pushes the engine to its limits and the quest design is superb.

I'll be publishing a fixed English translation in the next few days.

Yup, CoP's quest design is really something else. It's how SoC should have been in the first place. Only problem is, it's a bit short. Pripyat was a bit neglected in the quest department.

Whats so different now? "Real" quests and no "bring me x of y" anymore?

He holds his AK-whateva like a retard in one of those pictures from 2006; like a spear. Since it's coming to xbawks I guess it's going to be mediocre at best, so I really can wait for this one.

I'm glad to hear that call of pripyat is actually good though, and that I can't wait for. I think. Wait, I can wait for it.

It can't be *that* much better?

Still, those people are more responsible more for the released build then final SoC. Ironically, probably the same team that made CS delivered CoP.

GSC is going to release patch in few days, probably with some missing dialogs, you are waiting for it?

Still not the Stalker they promised but CoP is the most solid done.

A build that didn't go anywhere. Which is sad, they could've at least kept the Generators. Or the Dead City (which, apparently, was one of the last cuts).

Then I'll release a patch for my translation.

Their promises were 50% bullshit from the beginning.

There's a new trailer out. Looks really nice, I'm sort of looking forward to it now. Hopefully they deliver it as promised, in Feb-March.

For those who read Russian, the official site (http://metro-game.com/) has lots of info on the game. The preview says it's more like an interactive adventure kind of deal than a pure shooter. Hmm, I wonder. I can't say I'm very happy about the RE4-like quick-time event stuff, though.

Looks pretty cool, imo. Can't believe it's the Stalker-engine.
