mib88 mega mod 2.41 problem!!

i manage to fix somehow this error.

now, i have next one.
toxic caves -> rescue Smiley:
1. there is a LOT of geckos! why?
2. i can't go back! there is no yellow exit field to step on it at the end of cave!

the exit is farther on the left side of the map :-B the geckos keep respawning every time I enter the cave.

and some troubles about the car :
- it disappears in the map of sulik's village and the map sucks, I can move in but can't get out
and the real problems is : The more corpses I have on the ground, the slower the game 8-| ? sometimes it does crash
- klint's stat is sth really weird, his HP comes up to 137 and goes down to 85 after I have him equipped the power armor 8-| ?
 
after few days playing with megamod i verify that this mod is not playable.

its not about tech problems, its about weird stuff:

Gecko problem is solved with 2.42 megamod patch. Klint is buggy when you give him power armor... As for sulik village, it works very good with hi-res patch, but without it it is unplayable... because you can't scroll the map

It is playable, I play it every day. Weather bug will be solved in next release, until that simple delete weather.ini from your main Fallout 2 folder to disable weather mod - so it don't ruin your stats. Make sure to check Megamod 2.4 Technical Issues and Suggestions topic often, there you will find all bug fixes.
 
and what about the elevator in Vault 23 and BOS Facility ?, I stepped on the lift's platform and no box appeared :-B [ just like a normal platform ]

Funny, i had the same problem till i read the "Nirran ReadMe.txt" (in "readme files" folder of fallout2).
As said in the three first lines of this .txt, i deleted the ";" in the ddraw.ini.
Then, elevators worked. :P
 
I just uninstalled and then deleted the folders for fallout 2. I then did a full reinstalled from the cd, I downloaded and installed MM 2.42 from Nirran's website.

I went into ddraw.ini and set the graphics mode to 0.

I renamed ddraw.dll because the game is real choppy with it.

I made all files in both proto folders read-only.

It loads up fine, I create my character (even tried premade), when I walk into the temple, the game crashes. I can't see what the error is because I can't get the error box up to the front. I have to ctrl+alt+del and end task.

After spending 3-4 hours trying to get the game to play, I think I found a solution. I renamed the PATCH0000.dat file and it let me zone into the temple with no problems. I'm not sure what all isn't going to be available or unavailable by doing this.

Why are you playing around so much when you don't seem to know much of what you're doing? I don't mean that as an insult, just think it would be easier if you take your time and read the readme files that came with the MM (megamod 2.35 readme.txt especially).

There it tells you to MAKE SURE you DO NOT have a patch000.dat. That would have saved you a few hours. :)

Also, whatever changes you do to ddraw.ini will have no effect when you rename ddraw.dll. In fact you just removed sfall from your game.
Now several components of the MM needs sfall, so I'm not sure what will happen without it. At best you will get a stripped version of the mod, but I expect there will be a few bugs.

I also saw in your other post that you were using the unofficial patch together with the MM. If you still are I would recommend that you don't. Cause I'm not sure it's 100% compatible. Or what do you say MIB88?

You are absolutely right, Darek: they are not compatible. If it was added before the MM files, it won't matter, since all of those files will have been overwritten when the MM was added. If, however, he added the unofficial patch after the MM, then he will have most likely have a lot of bugs in his game (if it works at all).

Hi iv got a problem with the Vault 23 location. Stricktly talking with the elevator that u unlock with the key card to enter the vault. Ive read some previous posts and problems with elevators but as i asume u where talking about elevators already inside vault 23 and BOS facility.

My problem looks like this. I came to vault 23 Location and i can walk pass the closed elevator door like on some wallhack and run inside the cliff wherever i want. when i use the keycard from the survivor in robes on the elevator door it opens up but still nothing changes. I can no longer use hands anwhere on the lift after the doors open and walking inside the elevator doesnt take me anywhere like there would be no map changind grid like on map corners, that u use to change location, neither does any window pop up with levels like in other lifts. I alread deleted the ";" comment kley in ddraw.ini at the elevator line and when i download the full megamod 2.42 from Nirran's site ( 20 mins ago ) my save files stop working after instaling it :S It there any solution to this problem without reinstalling the patch and corrupting the save files :S ? I remember i installed megamod patch by patch, not the full version at once ( i did 2.35 full on clean fallout > 2.40 > 2.41 > 2.42 )

Please help me some one i dont feel like starting again to explore vault 23 :(
 
I can't see custom (added by the mod) places on the travel list. I've discovered Shack and Farm but can only see Arroyo and Klamath on my known places list.


How do I fix this ?

My problem:

I have crc check Error while running MIB88 Megamod with sfall.

I use Megamod 2.42 and sfall 2.8c.

I tried adding ExtraCRC=0xe348e17f but it doesn't change anything. I also tried to add ExtraCRC=0xe348e17f in the main section, just in case, it didn't work either.

Tried reinstalling Fallout 2 and Megamod from scratch but didn't succeed either.


For some reason ExtraCRC option is not working at all. I can't quite get what I'm missing. :?

While Megamod has its own sfall 2.3 version installed, I read there were quite a number of bugs fixed in higher versions.

Can someone point me in the right direction

in Sfall 2.8 this option was removed (i don't know why). use 2.7 version

This is what mine looks like in the main/first section of the ddraw:

Thank you very much for the answer. Just to make it clear. You use ddraw.dll from 2.8c and ddraw.ini from 2.3?

And thanks for mentioning about critical rate bug. I read about it but thought it was fixed already.

You mean you replaced ini and dll also? But that means you downgraded to 2.3a version. Because in all MIB88 Megamod builds I found have only this version.
 
Megamod comes with version 2.3 of sfall so in order to have the most up to date and bug free experiance i went to nirrans site and downloaded the newest version.In order to use a newer version you have to also use the dll that comes with it and makes sure you copy lines from the megamod ddraw over to the new sfall.

For example:ExtraCRC=0xe348e17f

That line is in the Megamod's 2.3 version of ddraw but its missing from 2.8 so you need to add it.Just go through and compare the two ddraw's and copy anything that you notice is missing.Most of it is already there but megamod's has a few others that you need.
