Military discussion thread

I was gonna ask, but how much does heat have to contribute?
This particular example, 3000 degrees, melts iron - but would a detonated bomb actually melt iron? Would it have time to do so?
 
Nope, the blast lasts for less than second, not enough time to melt solid metal.
