Minimal UI mod + Revelation Thread

sure thing, I made the exact same mistake the first time :D

Code:
[Fonts]
sFontFile_1=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_2=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_3=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Medium.fnt
sFontFile_4=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_VeryLarge02_Dialogs2.fnt
sFontFile_5=Textures\Fonts\Fixedsys_Comp_uniform_width.fnt
sFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_VL_dialogs.fnt
sFontFile_7=Textures\Fonts\Baked-in_Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_8=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Futura_Caps_Large.fnt

I am however not sure if this helps with the gui. Sounds rather serious, any error message you could post?
On the contrary you are having a lot of crashes or? At least I think I've read you do. Any other mods installed or changes made?

If ignoring the font changes won't help, you are at least able to set it back without reinstalling the entire stupid game.

Did you install the latest version? Fonts section for latest version would be :

Code:
[Fonts]
sFontFile_1=Textures\Fonts\Fallout10.fnt
sFontFile_2=Textures\Fonts\Fallout10.fnt
sFontFile_3=Textures\Fonts\Fallout8.fnt
sFontFile_4=Textures\Fonts\Fallout12.fnt
sFontFile_5=Textures\Fonts\Fixedsys_Comp_uniform_width.fnt
sFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\Fallout10.fnt
sFontFile_7=Textures\Fonts\Fallout8.fnt
sFontFile_8=Textures\Fonts\Fallout10.fnt

As for the original fonts, it may have been this.. I think:

Code:
[Fonts]
sFontFile_1=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_2=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_3=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_Medium.fnt
sFontFile_4=Textures\Fonts\Monofonto_VeryLarge02_Dialogs2.fnt
sFontFile_5=Textures\Fonts\Fixedsys_Comp_uniform_width.fnt
sFontFile_6=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Monofonto_VL_dialogs.fnt
sFontFile_7=Textures\Fonts\Baked-in_Monofonto_Large.fnt
sFontFile_8=Textures\Fonts\Glow_Futura_Caps_Large.fnt

As long as your fonts are all in "Fallout3\Data\Textures\Fonts\" Then it should load up fine. The issues with fonts not loading were corrected in Update 2.

Ive been working on combining this mod with the revelation mod.
And here is the result, let me know what you think.
Edit/ links in first post.

Please reupload on nma, my stupid chinese provider blocks freewebs for some strange reason (:lol: ) and I want that thing so bad :D

/e oh and on what resolution are you playing pope? I think I had a crash with this mod too if I remember correctly. Maybe this is a problem with lower resolutions.

/e² thank you very much.

just for testing purpose, you might want to lower your resolution and see if this still works? I know, stupid try and error, but its quick n cheap!

Ok I have just added it to NMA.

Pope Viper, would like to help you get this working, but would need a bit more info.

Fine I tested it at 2560x1600, 1280x800, 1280x1024 and 1024x768. All seemed fine.

i like the position of the compass in your lastest revision, the revelation mod seems pretty cool. i also like the weapon condition, although is it possible to move it aligned with the health or AP?

Even better is it possible to align it all to the left?

so the AP is under the health, with weapon condition under that and the compass under that?

Great work Nad02s, the best mod i have come accross.

I installed the slow levelling mod too, but unsure whether it will mess up my game, i hope not!!

nad02s something I have noticed is that the crosshair is not in the right place, when i shoot freely, without VATS i shoot to the bottom right of the crosshair.

Also I dont know if it is just the revelation mod, or your updated UI modd, but I now find that accessing body , locker, desk, box etc inventories, sometimes there is a pause before it actually comes up with the contents of teh box or wotever it is i pressed 'e' on.

Also, i dont mean to be a paiun, but do you have your updated minimal UI mod on its own, without the revelation mod? Im not sure i like the revelation mod now.

Thamks nad02s

The difficulty with hitting the mouse is a bug in revelations. Its not a killer though, the box is sometimes missplaces, if you scroll carefully you should be able to hit it. or simply press e.

just the minimal ui can be found here: http://www.freewebs.com/s20dan/Minimal UI Mod Update 1.rar

I do have to say that it seems that the game needs longer to open up dialogs when the revelationsmod is installed. anybody can confirm that? maybe I'm just tired

rolfcore, I mean there is a pause, after pressing e on say an ammunition box. So i oress e on teh ammunitions box and there is a slight pause before the menu showing waht sin the box comes up.

Also that link to UI mod on its own is not the latest one with the compass small and directly under the HP. but its ok i just deleted the revelation mod.

Yes I noticed that pause, its down to the new textures being loaded for the menus. So any menu that uses the new Revelation textures is opening very slow.

The only way round it is to remove the revelation mod.
There are instructions on how to do that included in the Revelations readme.

I think repackaging the BSA would solve this, but it would also drastically increase the size of the mod.

It might be more down to the methods that we are using to tell the game to load those textures instead of the default ones, but I'm not too sure really.

edit/ The pause doesn't seem too bad though, so far it should only happen when you start the game, then the textures should stay in memory and be accessed much faster.

Nad -

Yes, I would like to get some help with it, it will probably be Friday, or over the weekend, if that's cool.

@ Nirok - Please don't doublepost, we do have an edit function. Thanks

Sure thats cool Pope.

Nirok, I'll look into that cross-hair, your right it does seem to be slightly out of place.

Can you post the right coordinates? then I post it myself.

I also found another bug I think (or maybe I messed up the installation?):

Yes I think I have fixed the text clipping issue (I hope).
But until I release an update tomorrow or saturday you can just decrease the font sizes, and the text should fit a bit better.

Edit/ I hadn't fixed it, can't seem to get the conversation options to wrap to the next line, so I will jsut include another file for use with the larger fonts. Will look like this:

Fallout3%202008-11-07%2004-27-49-62.jpg

Fallout3%202008-11-07%2004-29-40-53.jpg

For me its most of the time this slow. I guess removing the container.xml will solve the problem? as it is only annoying if I loot a place

Playing with wrapwidth doesn't work?
Code:
<wrapwidth>
	<copy src='parent()" trait="width"/>
	 40
</wrapwidth>
This is the code it's using now - ignore the single quote.

yeah I have just removed the container file, as its only when accessing containers, that it is annoying. Still a great mod though!

Do you think its ossible to move everythign over to the left? such as AP and weapon damage? maybe no one would like that?

Cheers
