Just for clarification if this wasn't already known.

Why 16777216? Because that is 0x01000000 in hexadecimal notation. The developers just pick a really large number that is round (in the hex sense).

I don't know how to check it... can anyone with the skills confirm this?

Edit: It doesn't work. I installed F2 with updated 1.05 and tried, but after Miria throws herself in and the screen gets dark, the game gets stuck and I have to use ctrl+alt+del to close it.
