More VB Concept goodies

We have gotten ahold of some more of the concept art images from Van Buren/Fallout 3, here are some interesting ones:

Well now, a new critter unveiled..Comments?

The Molechs look like a variant on the mutated critters we already had in Fallout. Seems a bit redundant, but it doesn't look unfitting, really.

The leather jacket design is sucky, but the comments made in comparison with Mad Max are good.

The Boulder Dome looks interesting, but perhaps a bit out of place.

I liked the snakelike elements of the Molechs, but the body of it didn't seem to work well for it IMHO.

The Boulder Dome does look interesting, too bad there's no further description of it.

Haha, the only comment needed for the leather armour would have been: "Make it Mad Max."

They should've called them Girravagers (as in giraffe-ravagers)! Or not.
And how do the stand without a tail for counterbalance? And why the three jointed legs? Some sort of ostrich-giraffe hybrid?

And it shouldn't be carbon copied from Mad Max. Flare is good, regardless of the utility irl.

And who moved the Epcot center to Nevada?

:ok:

It does look like the post-apocalpytic Epcot center!

I love all that art...it makes me want to cry. Also, any new creature is great...Im sure they have a well-written concept behind why it exists. Ive always loved bestiary's in any rpg table-top or otherwise. Any sort of back-story requires explanation, but I particularly find creatures fascinating so...

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I like all of the molechs, I wonder what it's mixed with, I can see it's mutated partly frorm human(because of the body-part and the legs on two of them)...

I did not like that man-guy-person , I agree it should look more like mad max kind of armour.

The last picture was really sweet too 8)

yay pics!
But that armor looks horrible. If he's smacked down on his left side, he'll perforate his own face in those damn spikes.
What is it with artists and massive shoulderpads?

*edit*
fuck it. cant sperll roperly

You have a tail

I like the B-dome, it looks like something from one of the World fairs, kind of blends in with the 50's look.

I like sawyer's comments on the leather armor. While you can say he's biting a little too much from mad max, his comments are all logical. The leather armor looks very cool as is but Sawyer definitely was focused in the right direction. He definitely seems to have a taste for mad max... I remember him citing it a lot back on the interplay forums. Good choice of course :).

The creature looks kinda weird... with the exception of the aliens, I thought every mutated thingey in fallout was supposed to be an overgrown variation of something mixed with radiation and FEV (what was the deathclaw again?). However, that creature looks to be from neither. It looks cool but doesn't seem fitting with the existing creatures in the setting.

The Deathclaw was from a Jackson's Chamelion or something like that.

But the centaurs in FO1 were a real strange thing.

Well i like the Boulder Dome art, i wonder if the world lights on Bethesda new engine allow for that redish looks.

Anyway check these art pics from the Boulder Dome interior

Boulder Dome
A research outpost, filled with all sorts of scientific equipment. A ZAX supercomputer is here, but it's been damaged and is unable to run at full power. Still, the few scientists here seem to make do, though they're somewhat tightlipped about what exactly they're working on.

It`s all there is about the location i think.

I don`t think the Molech got further than that stage, it`s pretty classic stuff, i wonder where would they show up...

The Mad Max type character shows well one of the looks that were intended to apear in the game, there was what Sawyer called the Enclave look, clean and techy, that wouldn`t apear much, since the world was in decay again, more than in Fallout2; the Vault look, the Retro-futuristic visual style that i particularly love on the Fallout games, there is some amazing art featuring that look, and this shows the Wasteland look, more Mad Max, since they don`t share my view that the Post apoc john Carpenter movies were as important as Mad Max2 and 3 to the final Fallout visuals that i suport. The comments are funny, i agree :)

It looks good enough to be real. It's hard to tell if it's just a good artist using a similar style or not. It's a shame it's not signed.

Yes, they are interesting... but, 50's or not they don't really give me a Fallout feeling... only few of VB pictures released so far did actually. Does anyone else thinks they exaggerated a bit with this 50's thing making it look forced?

Anyway, it would be very nice if more of the things that actually got into the game would be released... like screenshots, models etc.
