Need Help To Run FALLOUT 1 & 2 on WIN 10 (Don't know anything, need sincere help(noob))

Hello fellow members,

I recently bought the Fallout 1 & 2 jewel cases so the CD games not from Steam, while waiting for the items to arrive I read that it does run on Windows 10 but has to be messed around with to function on my laptop. When I got my order and inserted the disc (Fallout 2), I tried to install it, but an error pops out and says, "Error initializing video mode". I have read that to get it to install and run, people recommended patches such as The Restoration Project and The Unofficial Patch, listed in this link:

To be honest, I am not any good at following instructions and when I do some of "easy/known" instructions aren't included. I need help into trying to configure this, not someone blabbing that it can be done or that it's easy to do, I have never dealt with things like this. So please help, because I want to finally play these games for the first time. So does anyone want to help?​

 

Sorry new to this get excited with the features they offer... Well I tried both of things you mentioned and tried on compatibility mode to changes certain settings, but it still showed the same error. By the way, do you know how to posts threads like these to the public, or does it have to be under a specific section?

 

Well, hopefully, I can follow this without screwing up... Like what is an NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3, what is it necessary for?

 

Sorry, if I am bothering you, but I am stuck on step 5 that says, "Next install the official patches for Fallout 1 or Fallout 2, it's easiest just to unzip/unrar them into the Fallout 1/2 folder. " Does it mean the patches from the disc? When I looked for the patches in the program/win there was only one under PATCH000.__
If it were that one it does not give the option to unzip/unrar

 

Fuck its not trying to run now it says "Error initializing video mode 640 x 480", can someone point out what is wrong

I downloaded the FIXIT FULL/CUSTOM and its not doing anything for me, very confused... this was is not easy at all for me, could be I am overlooking something simple... like some mistake but I carefully tried following instructions. On the forum, it says I have to have a Windows NT 4 server pack 3, could that be why? or should the patches help fix all that?

Okay, I redid everything to make sure I didn't mess up and I'm at the part to install the Restoration Project patch, but where do I install it is the question? I am not given the option to install into the Fallout 2 file I made...
The only acceptable option it gives me is in the WINDOW (C , but the Fallout Restoration Project pg. says not to install it in the program files directory. When I try to install it in New FIle or anywhere else in the the WINDOWS (C it gives me:
"Fallout 2 RP must be installed to the main F 2 installation directory. Pls make sure the file Fallout2.exe is n the directory you are installing to."

 

I think I finally installed the restoration project patch to my Fallout 2 file, I tried to launch it ,but its the same error popping up "Error initializing video mode 640 x 480" I don't know what to do from here, if I don't need to mess around with the compatibility ...

 

Thanks, yeah I successfully installed into the F2 folder. This how it looks like currently.
