Has someone in the modding community already finished all the animations for the generic brown robe (i.e. one used by Aradesh).

I always liked this cliche color Mr. Green
You mean the monk one? not the scribe one? Won't happen any time soon. Too much missing animation.

Maybe you could re-paint the robe to that or a similar color, like so: --- ?

Personally, I think this would work great as the PC's variant of the monk robes. Maybe if this was ever completed ( :cough: x'il :cough:  ) it could be used as a new armor variant in-game. (Plus an inventory item would have to made)

You mean like this (re-colored robe, un-hooded head and backpack)?:

Yes, that looks pretty good. It'd be awesome with visible boots/non restricted legs, for a more "wasteland" look.

Indeed. This as robe for the player would be very interesting.

Is it hard to recolor the robe like that? I mean... much work or "simple" recolor?

I am not sure about it yet, I havent worked with new colors for some time now, need to check it out. :D

Very easy. I still even have the automated process on PS saved. I didn't know there would be any interest in yet more robe re-colors... Give me some time to finish other pending stuff first and i'll get it done. :)

In normal, I am not much interested in robe recolors as well, but this desert tone has something, that speaks to me. :V

I like the black robe, but the dessert tone takes the cake ! its much more in tune with the surrounding color palette than the purple one.

Im not even going to comment on the backpack /unhooded one cause however that one turns out its just straight up pure awesomeness. ]

Though, visible boots/non restricted legs indeed makes it a more 'wasteland' survivor style of garment, More like a long type of overcoat wich would fit the setting perfectly.
It gives you protection against the elements, freedom of movement & space to store that good old shotgun under.

Bye !

Not to dump more work on your or anything

However, I think you should also change the yellow strip at the wasteline that is present in the scribe robes with the brown "rope" belt that is present on the monk robes :wiggle:

See, now you got over-ambitious... :P

Now seriously, re-coloring the yellow strip on the robes just like the one on the vsuits cannot be automated (and look good) so it has to be done manually... which i'm not doing.

I suppose a good thing about the color of this 'sand' robe is that it masks a little the yellow stripes.

P.S. Btw did you receive my message?

Hypothetically speaking, (;)) if you were to do all the color replacement, I would do the belt.

This guy isn't even hard to make in the slightest, so I 'm sure I could do that rather quickly. And yes, I read your message, thanks for the help :drunk:

--EDIT--
Or, I could ditch the belt idea altogether and just help you make this critter :D

What would you have me remove to make it simpler or less crowded?
I think removing the mask and the chest belt should be fine. Maybe also removing the backpack I guess.

You seem eager to make this re-color so if you want to do it yourself go ahead. :ok:

---

Yours seem darker though... so if you want to do it the same color i could send you the exact steps i used.

Alright, do that then. Though I'll only help at a slow pace, since I'm working on miss red-head still. Speaking of which...

True, you're making the red-head... you should probably focus on that... don't worry then, since it is automated this stuff gets done fairly quick, so like i said i'll get those robes done soon. :)

I'll help with him... with one solid day of critter editing, I could probably do a whole set if the process is automated... plus, I want your PS actions  No matter what I do, my actions don't work in an automated fashion...

All right, let's take the discussion to PM's so as to not clutter the thread with too much talking and too little 4-pixel-tall eyecandy. :P

This is so uber cool, so wasteland-ish. It's a real shame that original critters aren't looking this way :? Or like this:

It's Azrael-Arkangel's repaint of Vic critter (or at least I think so).

Lexx said:
But I personally think that this 'Tycho' has too much details and breaks with the rest of the game style because of that.
I personally don't care about this simplified, shitty pants, original critters. I'd replace them all with more detailed wasteland-ish versions if I only had an access to good looking, well working, ready-to-use animations 8-) Any better looking/fitting critters are welcome. They're re-paints of original ones after all, so they're going to blend pretty well with rest of the game. We can go further and say: even simple re-paints are breaking simplified, lacking any customization game style. Not to mention about stuff, like new, custom THs (copy & paste with original ones sucks too). So why bother to doing/using new graphics at all? :D

Robes sucks (one of the worst critters ever). It's just screams: What the fuck I'm doing here!? Who put me there?! This is wrong game!. Perhaps it could fit well into some fantasy crap as some kind of princess - you'll only need to create small trolls carrying skirt stuff, which is sliding over the ground after her

@ Ghouly

Keep up the good work :ok:

---------------------------EDIT

Of course, stuff like this over the head is cool. Thing which totally sucks in Fallout-y robes is that long skirt, which reminds me of this

That's how the robe should look like in the first place!!
Looking great guys!

The belt to be honest isn't really bugging me to be honest. So I would say just do the repainting and leave the belt as it is to save time.

The other critters look amazing too. I get it would be to much trouble to create it as a recruitable NPC. But maybe it could serve it purpose as a special NPC, (like mysterious stranger for example?)

Speaking of that, how hard would it be to make the real Mysterious Stranger character?

So he has a cool robe like this:

And also a hat like this:

And all of that in beige/sand colours, more in the style of the first one (x'il's 'Tycho')

Like the guy in my avatar, minus the troll face :smug:
