True. Meh, pretty standard I guess. Movie looks nice, hope it turns out like the Dawn of the dead remake, which pwnt my pants off.

Well, I would mind seeing slow zombies in this movie, but I just think that fast zombies are much more convincing at portraying danger than slow ones.

The zombies in Doom used guns and they kicked ass, and the Slow Zombie is the best Zombie. Just like Imperial AT-ATs which seem slow, but they just keep coming.

Damn did I just type that? I meant, just like the Ukrainians, who are pretty slow, but usually get there eventually. Yeah, thats better.

Theres no hiding it Lauren.

Youve been westernised.

Everything from our capitilistic video games to the great evil.

Teh great evil that is the work of George Luca$........

Star Wars.....

Yup, youre a SW geek.

Add another vote for the slow, gun-less zombies...

and since someone mentioned shotguns, did anyone else find the HL2 shotgun to be much more "rewarding" than the Doom shotgun?

The fun, fast zombies worked for 28 Days later, though I can't speak for the recent Dawn of the Dead.

But the slow moving zombies were better because it created more menance and kept your focus on where the problem was.

In Romero's films- the problem has more to do with the humans and how they interact than the danger of the zombies. The zombies are just the slow creep of inevitable doom. Mankind's inability to work together is what makes them a victim to that doom.

You mean you haven't seen the new Dawn of the Dead? The zombies in 28 days later are complete pussies compaired to the ones in the new Dawn of the Dead.

I must say that I'm a bit concerned about this movie. Last I heard the plan was that Bob, the smart zombie from Day of the Dead, is supposed to be the king of the zombies in this one, and that he is the one that teaches them to shoot. Or something like that.

That doesn't really sound good to me. Partly because I don't like Bob, or anything else that has anything to do with Day of the Dead, since that movie is so fucking bad, and partly because I just don't like the idea of smart zombies running around and shooting guns and whatnot.

And now that we're on the subject on running zombies, I gotta say that I don't like them much, although I didn't really mind them too much in the recent remake of Dawn. It would, however, be a travesty if Romero's zombies started running all of a sudden, since I understand that this movie is supposed to be tied in with the Living Dead Trilogy. How the hell would the zombies gain the ability to run all of a sudden?

edited for errors

running zombies: action, action, action
armed zombies: zzzzZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzz
slow zombies: menace, horror, creepy!

but i guess i'll go see it anyway... :(

Why would Bob tell the zombies how to shoot?

[spoilers for Day of the Dead]

The whole idea revealed in Day of the Dead was that the zombies remembered parts of their past life and Bob was (IIRC) a soldier before he died. They are not learning, they are remembering.

He also only went amok because the humans killed his doc. Turning him into the leader of fast gun-zombies is plain retarded and totally off.

Slow zombies rock because they just don't want to die. You shoot at them and keep on shooting but they just won't stop. Eventually you run out of ammo (or get close to it) and just think "Oh, shit. I'm SO fucked". With running zombies you just think "OHSHITIMSOFUCKED", which isn't very different from your average action movie.

Basically it's the difference between action/suspense and horror/suspense.

Retards. With slow zombies you can just run away. If you run out of ammo, are you just going to go "Noooooooo!" for 10 minutes until they get to you? Running zombies don't stop for shit either, same rules apply to them. You need to break their nervous system. IMO, they didn't make running zombies in the original Dawn of the dead either because of technical difficulties with makeup and such, because they had that haitian zombie culture in mind, or because it was just too scary for the 70s.

Running zombies >>>>> Slow zombies

Retard zombies >>>>> Armed zombies.

This is obvious, try to prove the contrary with non-stupid arguments. I challenge you.
