New Defonten art: Brand New Reno

very nice job !
but i must say that cafe of broken dreams looks a bit too clean.it should have looked a bit more messy .

I'd love to print one of these as a poster but that requires a much higher resolution.
From what I can gather it requires about 100pixels per inch for it to look good.

Is it at all possible to get a super highres-version?

if I beg on my knees ? ;)

Oohhh, that would be really nice. We have a really good high-res printer at work :)

Or sell prints of these and the other two.

I'd take poster size on all of 'em. This is stunningly well done.

! ATTENTION ! ... Detail ... ! AHEAD !

! ATTENTION ! ... Detail ... ! AHEAD ! Protective Attitudes Required!

Some see clutter, I see detail.

Some feel uncomfortable with the visual noise, I leap into the wall of sound.

Perhaps it's decades of near sighted vision and the last 10 with trifocals,
I see an intelligently composed city scape in which the light and dark center the eye.
The detail of line and shade directs an interesting pattern of textures
as the focus pulls back from the sky lit center and re examines the left and right wings.

A ""Where's Waldo"' merit badge to the ones that pointed out the cannon / plumbing.

I never said the detail wasn't there, it just feels like there's too much going on to me, however one could argue that they go hand in hand some of the time.

It's awesome. No comment on what it is, cause thats what it is.

I, on the other hand, if I drew this, would have put alot more emphasis on the background and scenery, since to me it gives the impression that there is to much going on upfront "Which there isn't". It's just not the type of balance I would have used.

I went with the cafe of broken dreams when that was first released to the printshop here and it was unfortunately way to low res to be able to print it as a poster.

Hey thanks for crits and comments guys. I really appreciate it. About those cannons - they are not really cannons at all ;) These are just simple pipes of steel that support small platform right in front of the External Entrance gate on that floor. Which means if you need to get there, you have to set up an appointment first with the guys up there so they would lift their asses off dirty matrasses and unroll a rope ladder for you to clib on ;)

Concerning possible clutter.. Believe it or not, it definitely can't be any more cluttered that it could actually be in real life if something as "enjoyable" as say World War III ever happens -) Yes, it's chaos, lots of junk, and.. clutter really. Of course I could be wrong, after all I'm only suggesting the possible way of seeing particular things :) And this is one of the main concepts of Fallout's philosophy - each can build his own world ("results may vary") starting off the original Great and Mighty Fallout©

About higher resolution. Ok here's 1920 wide version for you guys exclusively ;)

Man, I'd give an arm and a leg for posters of all three!

You should definately set up a poster shop Defonten.
Demand without supply is the cue to start supplying ;)

Beautiful! A lot different from your last work but its more of an improvement. I'd say that looks better then anything on Beth's website. Of course I'm biased. :)

hehe, sorry about that.

maybe i'm just a violent and obsessed man...

or it's just the fact that in the past few weeks i got up at 5:50 and get back home at 20:20, with most of the time inbetween staring at a computer screen. tired eyes...

Ahhh, damn this is good!

And I do disagree with others about the "clutter." I suppose (besides maybe regional loyalty) that most of the Fallout settings were in northern California for that very reason. Not too many trees after the nukes hit, I'd image.

Though the Boneyard, based on these pictures, could have been much more cluttered. As a counterpoint (here I am counterpointing my own points.... damn I'm weird) it might also be that the Boneyard residents cleared out a lot of the junk....although what happened to that stuff is another big question. Maybe there's a huge dump a few miles outside of the Boneyard.
