After "Invictus: Shadow of Olympus" I'm not sure 14 Degrees East is really up for this. Being the leader of a BOS squad, and apparently it'll have vechicles....I wonder if this is going to take place during The War, or a little after. I hope it doesn't take place near or after any of the established Fallout.

Fallout is Fallout, it's always be one of the greatest rpg and everyone know that. But why must hate other kind of fallout game, beside there isn't anything usefull in it. You hate it, you don't accept it, find...it's ok. But what you got? Mad to everyone, especially with me or some other who like to see some variasion of fallout universe?
FOT:BOS is just annouched, it's to early to said to gone a be good or bad seperate game, will ir be like HOM to MM series or Ultima series and UO/U-underground, but i pry and hope it will be like HOM-MM. Anyway...it's good that interplay itself, the BIG BOSS of Black Isle, intrested in fallout title. That they still think that Fallout is still can make money. Yes...you right, Rosh! $KACHING$ is a good sound, and everyone like it, need it, and love it. And when a product still can give that sound, the future of it still promising.
And talking about BIS out from Interplay and make their own company?...just becouse Interplay make the other fallout game? come on! The BiS itself doesn't seem to intrested in us and i think BiS can't do it again couse Fallout is Tim Chain and friends creation.
You want fallout 3? I want it too! but for now, when BIS busy on their own project and doesn't want to hear us, a good seperate/ another game is good too (IF the game proofed to be enjoyable and good in all aspect-not let fallout title down).

I doubt Interplay is doing this to make a great game, but I think that they are making this game so that they can test how the multiplayer turn-based combat system works and how it is recieved by everyone. Anyone else agree?

Allthough I agree with both Xotor and Rosh' points that Fallout:tactics will never really be fallout, I'll try to keep an open mind. Who knows, it might become a good strategy game. At least it's turnbased, which is what my favorite strategy games (X-com, jagged alliance) are too.

Alicia, I have to wonder about you. You consistently defend quantity over quality. You'd accept another Fallout title if it were a boxing game just because it has the Fallout name slapped on.
It is truly sad, because that kind of thinking produces garbage games, games that have no depth to them, that are pumped out like sewage. If you demand garbage, if you ACCEPT garbage, if you BUY garbage, that is what you will receive.

1) What I want to see in Fallout is a good RPG, and that's what FOT:BOS doesn't seem to be.
2) I like to think of FOT:BOS as of "just another game", that has nearly nothing to do with F1 or F2, except for te name and some aspects of the "storyline".
And because FOT:BOS clearly isn't F3, I like to see it as a dorito. Hell, maybe we can create a mod for it somehow (although I know virtually nothing about modding, so I think I should say you).
Selling out is something that a lot of people talk about in music business, and although I don't like sellouts, that music can be enjoyable. Think of something like greenday or the offspring, NOFX, there are plenty. I like to wait for the title to come out, or at least for some more info on the subject, so i know what I'm actually talking about. Let's just wait and see......

not exactly...i don't and i won't defend quantity IF it not support by good quality. I just want to said that why fallout must and only set in rpg consept, IF it can be expand to other type of game. Fallout (rpg) will always be remember in greatest rpg history wall and it's sequel will be anticipated by it's fans. But what wrong if there is a different game (strategy game) that set in fallout universe? what if they can make a great game in different style and set in fallout universe?

If it will be succes, fallout excistence is more solid then ever, both in rpg universe and startegy universe.

mmm...i'm ambivalent about it. If you are director of interplay, do you dare to gambler in something that you don't trust or know? But from it's previous, it's look like that they want to fill something that fallout (rpg) can't, and that's is multiplayer. Fallout (rpg) fans is to strict about upcoming fallout 3. Making or change some feature for fallout 3 is to risky, look what happend to ultima IX, so a seperate game is a perfect choice to do it. So what will ever happend to FOT, it's seperate to fallout (rpg)...if it's succes it can bring fallout excistence more solid, but if it's fail...well, it's not fallout (rpg).

This is not including the 70 PSX, 14 N64, >200 NES, >60 SNES, and Atari games. Hell, I even have a Sears Super Pong game in full working condition.
I feel old now....
