New Vegas: Blood Ties

"Follow the leader," Carib said and began to walk. He kept his eye on Nevest. The Brotherhood weren't an inherently evil organization, they weren't the sort of danger the Enclave presented at the time, but the Enclave were still on the run from the BOS and the NCR and that is how it was.

The new comer seemed to have ties with the Eastern Branch of the BOS, so he was probably much more tolerant of those who wielded tech outside the order. The Mojave seemed to draw in a lot of people. True the Mojave was no mythical city like Sierra Madre, but it was drawing a lot of people.

After this was done, after the Legion was broken, he'd go East and find his own place.

Tom looked over at David after Yasmin took off, following her, and started talking to him, "I know it'll be hard strung, but do you think that steeler guy could get me inside the chapter bunker, I want to see what the west coasters are actually like, I don't think all of them would be as 'die-hard' as that guy".

Thinking of groups related to the pre-war years, got Tom thinking about the Enclave, and Tom's experience of the Enclave when Tom was with the Talon Company, "Hey, do you know if any of your 'colleagues' every did anything in Fairfax?".

"Yeah. Me and my squad went there to secure a research post. Killed a lot of raiders. We split in two to scout more of the area. One of our guys got killed fighting some mercs at the area. Took a bullet through the head. That was a while before I got transferred to the spec ops. Why do you ask?"
David keeps on walking, making sure he is at the same pace as tom.

"I think some of my men served in Fairfax, apparently they encountered the Enclave there", Tom was staying sketchy, after all, the guy who Tom shoot in the head could've been David's best mate for all he knew, "What were you's doing at Fairfax, we were just there to take out some outcast patrols, we had leaked intel about them".

"Did you know the guy very well, y'know the casualty you took?".

Pawnsy followed along with the group Midas in tow. He didn't know much about all these organization's,the Enclave was a myth circulating around until it's apparent destruction by a tribal, And the Brotherhood of steel who kept to themselves, the news of hostility between them and the NCR was news to him. Pawnsy simply kept quiet hoping to learn more about the current situation in his old home.

"Yeah, he was a nice guy, but it was bound to happen sooner of later. He always wanted to be first into the fray. We called him pointman. I never really got close to him, but he was a good soldier. The fact you managed to kill him says good stuff about your fighting prowess. That and the fatc you survived in the legon fighting pits."
David smiled at the joke.

(I though I'd put a FEAR reference in there)

"Boy, you jump the gun a little, mind with my suspicious behavior, you were bound to know that it was my guys you encountered, good squad of men, one of the guys was sixteen, just finished his training, bit enthusiastic if you ask me, but he hadn't seen the things a soldier could see yet, one of the vets in my squad always used to shout at him, both of them were privates so arguments had to be put out quickly", talking to David about the East Coast was a good pastime, relieved Tom's mind about long gone happenings.

"Mind, the Legion fighting pits were no laughing matter, I swear half of them had restricted weapons in the arena, security was a bit loose", Tom chuckled at the time he had in the pits, to be fair though, the Legion should've seen Tom making a runner, after all, joining the Legion forces wasn't really Tom's objective.

Scythe followed the group. It wasn't his style to work in a group setting, at least it hadn't been since the BOS out East. But one of the members was a fellow brother and perhaps, Scythe hoped, he'd have a moment alone with him later to inform him of his true allegiance and background and potentially visit the Mojave Chapter.

"I'll just tag along if you don't mind."

Brad walked beside the man with the Gutsy.

"You know, on my way to Vegas, I stopped at a town called "Primm" and found an eyebot there. Unfortunately, I didn't have the right tools or parts to fix it up. I really liked the design of it, though. If I ever find another, I'll have to take it with me. If I'm lucky I could find a mechanic."

Nevest hung back from the group, not wanting to get involved in another argument despite his personal belief he'd won the last. He did, however, slide a slick comment towards David's way.

"God forbid the Brotherhood wrestles dangerous technology from savages, but when your ally falls in combat, it's completely fine to congratulate the enemy for their victories, and later disrespect the memory of the deceased by casually joking about one's ability to murder. Of course, of course..."

Yasmin looked over her shoulder at the man in the strange stealth suit and nodded when he mentioned tagging along. He could prove really useful with that thing.

They got out of Freeside and she checked her pipboy carefully before figuring out the direction to go and following it.

"Really now? I might just have to go to Primm one of these days then. Hold on, gimme a sec." Jacob said, motioning to Brad to imply he would fall back to talk with him again once he had finished talking to Yasmin. He trotted up until he was beside Yasmin and noticed her checking her Pip-Boy for something before continuing on. "So Ms. Yasmin, quite the motley crew you've assembled here. The only reasons you'd need a group this big is if you were going after something valuable, or heading somewhere dangerous." Jacob looked behind himself at the group. "I'm guessing dangerous. I'll cut to the chase Ms. Yasmin, I'd like to know what you're up to, and if I may be of assistance."

Yasmin looked at him from the corner of her eye as he walked beside her. ''It's both, actually. Though the thing of value is precious to me alone. My brother is - was - Steele. But I found out he'd not been in contact with anyone in ages. So I got these four,'' she motioned to Carib, Brad, David and Tom ''to come with me to where I thought he was. Turns out Fiends killed his squad and took him. For all I know, he's dead. But I plan to go to where he was taken and kill everything till I find him.''

She raised a brow ''Still want in? Pay is a share of everything we find.''

David gives an angry look at Nevest, just hearing him making a comment, and saying,"Hey if we're savages, then why are you eavesdropping on me and toms discussion? Learn some manners, and my men knew the risks. I was the squad leader, and I took the responsibility of losing a man, I then adapted my tactics to make sure it never happened again. But then, you wouldn't know about adapting would you?"

(Was David meant to hear that? If so tell me, and I will edit my post)

"Attitudes and in-fighting will get us nowhere. No one is free from sin. Everyone eventually needs a baptism by fire in order to cleanse their souls of past sins." Scythe then pulls out his pack of smokes, placing one in his mouth before lighting it and taking a deep puff. "Save it for those who deserve it."

(OOC: A little Joshua Graham/Burning Man reference.)

"Already had my baptism. And I guess your right. But next time Nevest, don't listen in on other peoples conversations. Now lets leave it at that."
David walks on with Tom.

((Yes, it was meant to be audible, so long as David/whomever wanted to listen.))

"The Brotherhood of Steel has adapted, but you wouldn't know anything of practicing values and principles, would you?"

Nevest turned to Scythe, who had began smoking.

"Religion offers an excuse for the wicked to escape their crimes without persecution. There are no baptisms, only 'those' and 'those not' willing to pull a trigger. And smoking? As if there were not a plethora of variables to kill you, out here in the wastelands."

Tom shot a look at Nevest, "Hey, I was eighteen when this happened, losing my squad, all decent men, half of the stuff I had seen up to that time wasn't exactly someone my age should be seeing, talking about it is a great way to relieve it, if I hadn't of talked about these times, I would probably be long crazy by now, so if your going to find reason to argue with my actions, don't eavesdrop".

Tom knew this guy probably wouldn't be as aggressive if they both hadn't of started off on the wrong foot.
