New Vegas: Blood Ties

Jacob left his forklift and walked over to Yasmin, keeping as little weight on his left leg as possible. When he reached Yasmin he took a glance at his leg in response to her question. The wounds would leave scars and they hurt like hell but it didn't look like there was any permanent damage. "Anyone got some Med-X?" Jacob inquired. Yasmin mentioned that there were no guards in the windows. He cocked an eyebrow at her suggestion to rush the wall. "I'm sorry, but are you serious? My guess is that the Fiends saw our little scuffle out here and are now waiting to ambush us at the first opportunity. They'll grab us, throw us in cages and take turns fuckin' us. Hell who am I kidding they probably won't take turns. What we should do is try and lure them into a trap, thin their numbers before going inside."

Brad took out his 10mm and pistol whipped the dog right in the skull. It yelped, let go of Brad's hand, and died. The pain in his right hand started to fade, but when he tried to hold his cowboy repeater the pain came rushing back. Looks like he was stuck with his pistol for now.
He walked over to Yasmin.
"Well, they didn't get my legs, so I can run."

David got, having had some time to rest, and said to Jacob,"Fiends, using tactics? Look, their too fucked up in the head to think ahead and try and ambush us. They might not have heard us, seeing as we aren't being attacked. Best bet is to do what yasmin said. Seeing as you made the mistake of thinking they were intelligent enough to use tactics, I would go with Yasmins experience of raiders in the mojave. Attacking them before they have a time to prepare would work, seeing as they don't seem to know we're even there."

Jacob glared at David, not taking kindly to his arrogance. "Underestimating the enemy is the kind of thing that get's one killed. I say err on the side of caution. If they could take down a squad from the Brotherhood they've either got tactics or there's just that many of them. We should act accordingly." Jacob rubbed his temples at the rashness of the group. "For God's sake we were ambushed by dogs, if those dumb animals can do it I'd say Fiends can."

"Dogs are descendants of wolves, creatures known for their hunting ability. Their very intelligent when it comes to killing things, so its no wonder they got the drop on us. Fiends however are people with most likely no education, made worse by the fact they are heavy chem users, especially psycho. They also have a high damage threshold, which was probably what helped them kill those paladins, rather than having any knowledge of military tactics. Their ability to take damage would also negate the option of an ambush. I would prefer to attack them and surprise them, rather than have a large group attacking us. Fast Offensive tactics will give us the edge, and assuming most us can pull of headshots, we can take quite a few of them out. Also, maybe most of us should distract them, giving yasmin a chance to go and find evan." David keeps a look out for any fiends, knowing that if the raiders are alerted to their presence they are screwed.

Pawnsy wiped the blood off his face with his suit's sleeves, the blood mixed with the dust and sweat making a sickly color. "Take this." Pawnsy handed Jacob Med X from his satchel, the needle had a cap to prevent accidental injection when he pulled it out. "I should probably go with you Yasmin, that is the main reason you hired me,to help in case your brother's battered and high. As for everyone else I have some Stimpacks in here in case you get boo boos while I'm gone just use them wisely." He pulled out Stimpacks and held 5 of them like a bouquet of medicine.

"As I said before, i've got a crack shot, i'll hang back and pop 'em one by one, I just need a vantage point where I can see inside the windows", Tom looked at the towering piles of crates, and pointed up, "Tell me when you want me up there", Tom smiled.

Yasmin looked at Jacob. ''When we found the dead Brotherhood, it was clear they died because - uncomfortabley enough - the Fiends had the advantage. Big open space for the Brothers, cover for the Fiends. But the problem is, I see no Fiends up there. At all. How can we lure them out if we're not even sure they can see us? Pile all our drugs up with a sign saying 'free' and hope they see it? The dogs were already here living under the crates. I think if they have any sort of ambush, it'd be closer to the building.'' she eyed off the innocent looking brown dirt of the mountain. ''A massive explosion would be a great alarm bell. That'd be my guess.''

She then looked to Pawnsy and Tom. ''Doc, you're exactly right. As dangerous as it'll probably be, I need you as my shadow when I find Evan. Glad I didn't have to 'convince' you.'' she added, a dark little smile playing on her mouth. ''And Tom, try ot to break your neck getting up there. The cover could be great. But once we get out of veiw, I'm not %100 on how we'll signal you to follow. If we signal you from the windows inside - all is well. If you see us come tearing back aroung the corner looking shit scared - something hasn't gone perfectly to plan. Once we actually get a plan, that is.''

"We could come up with a good plan if we know what we're dealing with. Maybe we should send a scout."

"Okay, i'll take that as get yourself up there", Tom immediately jumped up onto the second crate in the tower and climbed up to the third then the fourth. The tower wobbled for a bit as Tom tried to gain a comfortable position on the crate. Eventually the tower stopped shaking as Tom slowly laid himself and his rifle down on the crate. "I'll make sure to pop the ones that look dangerous", Tom chuckled for a few seconds as he realised how precarious his position was.

Nevest had been relatively quiet, since arriving at the fiend base. Accompanying his sluggish movements were what sounded like rain leaking through a roof. Watching the ground as he advanced, he accidentally bumped shoulders with Pawnsy. Nevest was about to mutter something, but when he looked up, he stopped himself. With a grunt, he stepped to the side, looking down at a crimson flow streaming from his wrist.

Jacob gratefully took the Med-X from Pawnsy and injected it into his leg. The painkiller took effect quickly and Jacob breathed a sigh of relief, the pain of the bite turning into a dull roar. He patted the old ghoul on the back. "Thank you Pawnsy, I'll find you something nice when I scavange this place." Jacob said with a smirk, expressing his gratitude. He put weight on his leg to find if it was in good enough condition to run. He winced a little bit but found it was at least something that could be ignored if needed. Jacob watched as Nevest bumped into Pawnsy, then noticed the blood streaming down from his arm. "Looks like I'm not the only one who needs pain killers."

Pawnsy smiled a little at Jacob"Just tell me if you find any Bio Med gel-.....Jesus christ!" Pawnsy jumped back a little from Nevest in surprise. "What happened tin man,did you cut yourself on the climb?" Pawnsy put away the Stimpacks before pulling out a roll of bandages,he didn't know if Nevest wanted to wrap himself up or not, anyway most people had a thing against Pawnsy touching them.

Tom looked down to his arm which was starting to bleed through his rags, "Damn", he whispered through his teeth so he didn't alert the team to his pain, Tom looked down at Pawnsy and thought about asking for a stim or a Med-X, but it was a waste of supplies, besides Tom could take the pain; it was a necessity in the wasteland. Tom watched as the blood rolled down his arm to pool in the crease of his cuff, and eventually drip down onto the ground, he'd had worse.

Yasmin looked at the battered, bleeding bunch of men she had. Damn. It was a lot more comforting when they weren't covered in dirt and blood and dog drool. Though she herself was dustyand hungry as fuck and limping. It wasn't ideal, but they'd be enough to help her. They'd have to be.

The little, vicious raider voice in her head murmured that at the very least they'd make good bullet fodder and a distraction so she could get Evan out, but she ignored it. He was her priority above all else. If it came to that, she'd do it. But she wasn't going to plan it out first. That was way too bad for her karma and betrayal is not so evil when it isn't thought out first. According to her, at least.

"A dog... Some shallow lacerations of my arm, teeth slid straight across the wrist. I'll be fine... I'm only slightly dizzy."

Nevest looked down to Pawnsy's bandages, shuddering behind his mask. He would have to choke out something relatively nice.

"May... may I?"

Although he had just spoken, Nevest intensely reviewed his choice of wording, criticizing himself for having to steep so low as to request aid from Pawnsy.

Pawnsy placed to bandage roll in Nevest's hand "Yes take it,if it weren't for this mission you would all be paying for this stuff,so please take all you can, hell I think I even have some Jet you can use if you feel really needy!" Pawnsy took a slight breath after his rant.

Tom looked down at the ghoul who was ranting at the other new guy, and felt like a joke to lighten the mood, "Hey, if that's the case, why don't you get me some of that Med-X, much as you can, and maybe a few stims", Tom chuckled at his terrible joke, then looked down his scope once again.

"Your getting one stimpack like everyone else,I only have about six, also the only MedX I have left is the kind I have to inject in your ass." Pawnsy smiled, his humor was more sadistic at times but Tom's joke did lighten the mood, which was good considering they were going to fight a horde of crazy addicts.

Jacob gave a little chuckle at Pawnsy. He was taking a liking to the old ghoul, despite what his old compatriots back at the Enclave would think. He looked up towards the ridge where GU-DR was waiting, and felt that the robot had waited long enough. If they were about to charge the fiend base, then the extra firepower would come in handy. Jacob reached across to his Pip-Boy and turned on the radio, switching to a normally dead channel. He held the Pip-Boy close to face and spoke into it.
"GU-DR, move out soldier, we're taking them on in a frontal assault! Git yer ass over here!"
"AT ONCE SIR! HOO-AH!" the robot responded through the Pip-Boy. In the distance the robot could be seen weaving it's way towards the fiend base as quickly as it could. Once it reached them it gave it's funny little salute and floated at the ready.
"Give me my tools GU-DR, I need to do some field repairs."
"At once sir!" the robot said, popping the hatch on it's top open. Jacob took out some wonder glue and tweezers and brought them, and his recharger rifle over to a crate. He propped up the rifle and went to work fixing up the wiring that was destroyed by the dog.
"Anyone else want their guns looked at quick?" Jacob asked, not looking away from his work.
