New Vegas Remake Fan Trailer

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
Oh look, a gamer knows more than a soulless corporate scum? Side note, New Vegas remake by competent team would be nice. Not that it will happen... Enjoy!

Another pretty in-engine animation. I have seen dozens of such remake projects of Bethesda games that started and never finished.
Some were ceased-and-desisted by Bethesda, some self-imploded before first playable demo was released.
I would love for someone to prove me wrong, especially with New Vegas - but it seems that complete remake of these games is too much work for enthusiasts.

There was also project called Fallout 4: New Vegas, but latest posts from team are from early 2021., so it is probably dead.

Yeah I suspected that mod is dead from what i've gleaned from the official Discord.

Why not try this instead Project Mojave

Heard about Project Mojave some time ago, I didn't know they made it to the release.
Couple of releases, I guess it is in decent state to try, thx!

According to Discord & Twitter, some key members got recruited to work on Fallout76.

Modding scene is like talent show for big companies - modders know engines and games better than most developers, sure shot.
Maybe one of the reasons F76 doesn't suck as much as before.

Is there any information about an official sequel to New Vegas? Or maybe about an official remake?

Nope.

And Todd said in the past that they prefer to have Fallout all made by their own studios now. Todd and Pete both said that they are also not interested in remakes of their old games like Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, etc.

They only made Skyrim SE because they needed to test new engine stuff for Fallout 4, so they updated Skyrim's engine and ran Skyrim on it to see if it would work, then since they had already made most of the work anyway, they just decided to finish the job and after that, they released Skyrim SE.

I guess that now that both Bethesda and Obsidian are owned by Microsoft, that could change. But all studios acquired by Microsoft in the past are left to work and do what they want, so I wouldn't bet on sequels or remakes for FNV.

Obsidian is also busy with their own projects at the moment (they are making Avowed and Outer Worlds 2 and just released recently Grounded, so they will be busy making patches and fixing bugs on that one for a while too) and Josh Sawyer was busy making his own medieval, detective, adventure game named Pentiment (also an Obsidian game that's being made), and I don't think Obsidian would make a sequel or remake to NV without Sawyer being a major part on it.

Yeah exactly. If you're going to do this much work, you might as well try to get paid doing it and not risking tons of legal action based on the intellectual property of the project alone.

This part oddly reminded me of the mental image I had of what New Vegas would look like when my friend told me about some preview or trailer before it released:

I didn't have good internet then and it took about 10-15 minutes for a 720p video to load 30 seconds to a minute so I just didn't watch shit online for a long time.

Good. Probably the only lead dev that would be within reasonable plausibility to happen that I'd wish to have. Obsidian's been dropping all these "We'd love to work on another one!" between Sawyer saying he'd do it again and Feargus recently talking about it and them all being owned by Micro$soft it's got people hoping. We'll maybe see Fallout 5 in 2030 and the next non-Bethesda helmed one, if at all, by 2040 hahaha

I really want this to succeed, but I'm still waiting on Skyblivion. Apparently Skyblivion is nearly done now so it gives me hope but It could be such a long time. I think NV might be a smaller map though.

The Fallout 4: New Vegas exterior world map is supposedly basically done. But there's still a lot to do, the world map isn't the hardest part.

I only focus on map since doing some kind of mapping for the ai to be able to navigate around is one of the last things to be done on Skyblivion so I assumed it might also be an issue here.
