if that was the only door like that in a monster cave I'd buy that, but they use the same door in the mirelurk hatchery and there are no humans anywhere near there. that door model is the monster cave door.

bethesda's engine needs you to click on a surface to enter an interior, thus anthills have to be entered through doors. it's as simple and as dumb as that I'm afraid

Why couldn't they just make an invisible surface, or a texture to look like a hole?

Not that it makes any difference - it's still a pop reference, at the very least as jarring and dumb as any of those in Fallout 2 that Beth claimed to be avoiding - but it resembles a hell of a lot more Kamen Rider than it does The Tick. Either way, it shouldn't be in the game at all, as it just doesn't belong in the setting.

If you kill him, you get the Ant platemail. The Mechanist is the one who gives you a helmet of sorts (a bucket).

beats me, it was the same way in oblivion though, every cave had a door on the front

Oh man, that one was great SuAside.

I think the super hero thing came from some comments/suggestions on the BSGF about a random encounter with a guy who was either mutated into a "super hero" or thought he was a super hero. I'm gonna try and find it so that I can post a link to it.
