Fallout 2 mod Oblivion Lost

Maybe I'm doing somethig wrong, but I still get stuck in the same place at the same moment. I even changed resolution to 800x600 but it doesn't help.

Hello again.
so sorry, my error (fixed)
p.s. - is working: but if Load your save, then you will see the unfinished edges of the map, otherwise everything is playable.
- If you load a different slot, before entering the lab., then these problems will not be.

How do I combine this + Restoration project?

I already got passed the Temple of Trials but for some reason there is no item highlight and I could not choose character sprite. I'm scared there is no EPA in this mod and I already gave my char 9 AGI.

I am pretty sure that the Oblivion Lost mod is not compatible with the Restoration Project.

Ok, I gave up. Got pretty far but the game crashes when I try to visit Pripyat again. I'm done struggling. To those who may want to play this mod: it's quality is very uneven. A lot of effort must have went into anomalies (awesome and deadly), new weapons (usually ugly though) and locations. The goofy dialogue and tedious humour may be a huge turn off for most people I guess (a certain companion won't join you because... he lost his laces and you have to bring him laces - of course you can't just buy them).

It may be interesting for people who like Stalker series very much or for those that simply played vanilla and RP fallout 2 to death and are looking for something different. There are like 3 ''new'' enemies: yellow recolored dogs - radwolfs, slow zombies that have 300 hp and hit hard, and 300+ hp bloodsuckers that are just ghouls painted red with like 15 AP. Use burst and grenades against the majority of enemies, but fighting those bulletsponges will still frustrate you and bore you. It encourages the player to just go straight to San Fran and return several levels later in a power armor, but even that won't help against 3 or more bloodsuckers that deal damage like crazy.

Mod could be good after some rebalancing. 5/10. Classical ,,could have, should have been''... sadly, Oblivion Lost is a largely wasted and now forgotten effort of it's creators.

Oh, and the Oblivion Lost english version download link is dead, so potential new players won't play it anymore. I tried to contact @_Pyran_ but he has blocked his PM (heh).

I am a bit clueless about what to do now.

- I went to Newbar and did all the quests there.
- As a side note, Cassidy disapeared at some point. Dunno why. I had to reset Vault City to resurrect him.
- I went to Kordon. It doesn't seem i can do much beside finding the laces for the Nameless One, trade with the guy on the first underground, and loot anomalies. I don't know what to do with Gutsy. Isn't supposed to be a doctor there who tame radwolves ?
- Speaking of anomalies, is there any tips to protect yourself from them ? About the artifacts, should i store them for a specific quest\NPC or should i just sell them to any trader i stumble across ?
- I went to the Junkyard and it seems that there is nothing to do in most of the maps.
- Gathered a couple of quests, so i guess i will do those, but they are either local or vague.
- One NPC tells me to see another NPC so i could become a member and get discounts, but the other NPC doesn't seem to have additionnal dialogs.
- Visited all the zone in the worldmap, there is no new location so far...

Damn it.
Loaded some of my old savegames and i think i found the problem.

It seems that i have to go straight to Sidorovitch right after leaving Arroyo, if i want any quests at Kordon. Or straight to Vahtang if want to do any of the main quests at Junkyard. Or straight to Will Wright, if i want to do any of the main quests at Newbar... As soon as i talk to one of those three, i am unable to move forward with the other two. They don't give me any quest. I can't even ask them about the GECK. Will Wright even refuse to talk to me... That doesn't make any sense... They don't even mention each other. How can we guess ?

So it seems that there is much more to do than initially, but the way the paths are dealt with is frustrating.

First, you choose between going to Sidorovich at Kordon, Vahtang at Junkyard and Will Wright at Newbar. As soon as you talk to one of them, you lose the other two paths. You don't even need to do a quest. There is no way to know ingame that you lose entire questlines.

Then, when you talk to Sidorovich, you have to notice the very first time he speaks about Wolf, to say that you want to talk to him immedialtely, if you want to pick Wolf questlines.

When Sidorovich ask you which GECK do you want, it opens up two different questlines. (but at least, this time, it is a bit more noticeable)

If you pick Wolf questline, he will, at some point, tell you to meet a general, that will ask you to see one of his two underlings. Each have their own mutually exclusive questlines. (but this time, it is a bit more obvious)

Vahtang questline can also lead you to lead to the general and his two underlings. Otherwise, he only has one questline.

Once you got the Geck from either Vault 13 or X12, you will go back to Arroyo to see your fellow villagers and fail to use the Geck. Then, either see Vahtang or Sidorovich (i don't know what happens if you didn't work for either of them before) to ask about how use it, and they will send you to Pripyat, where the questlines fuse together. Then, you have to pick options for the endings.

It feature slideshows that reflect some of the consequences of your choices. Which are hard to read and replace the original slideshows.

Some issues i still had.
- The eastern maps at Kordon crashes if you try to go there twice, with no quest activated (the same map is used in a different way by many quests)
- Couldn't map the area for Wolf (i had to cheat to validate the quest)
- If you pick Badger's questline, he asks you to kill Vahtang, who has a map for the GECK location. First, you have to trick him to leave the carpet, and then kill him, or you would be unable to loot him. Second, the map item that you loot from him can't be used. Anyway, you can still find the GECK the old fashioned way, through vault 13.
- Toxic Caves have a lot of high-level gear just laying around. It is almost cheating to go there so soon.
- When i reach the CPPN or something with the Gunner, the guy tries to move, but is kind of frozen...In every maps.
- Small issue, but i had to tweak the high-res mod to be able to access the door that lead to the Enclave computer room.
- The additionnal menus created by the modders are always empty.

Definitely think i would have prefered it as standalone.

Didn't found out how to trigger the Nameless One memory. I only have read it in the text files.

The mod is old and not supported by the developer.
Some problems can be caused by sfall, try to update to the current version.
