Ok so we'll have all these new plasma weapons...

lucas.

Still Mildly Glowing
What about the goo/ash piles bug?

Seriously I'll run to Bethesda biggest building I can find wearing a belt of dynamite if I see that in NV... :(

I agree with you. It would be pretty cool if the plasma weapons just melt everyone in to a bloody muck with some bones sticking out of it :D

I really don't care what they'll become as long as I don't have to look at it again after 3 days...

Yeah, this is the same for ash piles. It's really retarded. Doesn't it fuck up the system's memory if there are too many piles?

I wouldn't mind the goo piles themselves if they actually looked like a pile of melted flesh and bone and not a giant booger.

That said, I think the ash piles are okay, if only because I don't think the engine would handle the body turning into ash, blowing away, and generating five or six items on top of each other and letting physics take over. They should, however, disappear after three or four days, whenever merchants and dungeons 'reset'.

what I liked was the mod someone did where you would have the bones and sekelton left next to the pile of "goo". Was awesome! Hope that will work with Vegas as well.

THough the first time I heard about F3s weapons and effects I really hoped back then to see something more similar in what one could see in Mars Attacks!. You know the part with the bones and such

Lol that movie was so horrible and funny at the same time.

Wasn't a song his grandma used to listen the fatal weapon against the aliens? XD

There has been a mod for Fallout 3, that made similar. I liked it and used it.

Yeah I'm using xbox 360...

I never got used to PC gaming, only used my PC to check the FO games before FO3.

I'm hoping that I can earn enough money to get a nice PC for NV before it comes out. I've only been able to play Fallout 3 on my 360. I've always preferred console gaming, but mostly because I hate dealing with all the bullshit that comes attached to PC gaming. And the smug, elitist attitude. Just couldn't get behind that.

My god, I forgot how great of a movie Mars Attacks is.

I play most games on console because nothing beats a big TV, a big couch and a wireless controller.

I know I can install a CPU on my TV and use it as a monitor and buy a joystick but it wouldn't be the same thing... I play on console since I was 4 so it's like making an old lady leaving her hometown after 56 years... >.>

And yes while most console gamers are immature little punks most PC gamers are elitist...

I can't stand controllers. Especially the joysticks. Oh the joysticks.

There's a reason for that. We KNOW our platform is better ;)

Smiley face or no, that just comes across unbearably fucking smug, and why I can't fucking stand most PC gamers because they make a point of letting you know that they play on the PC. I'll shut up because I don't want to derail this shit but fucking christ is that annoying.

When I do get a PC, I will make goddamn sure my video card has HDMI out so I can plug that shit into my TV though. Combine that with a nice wireless mouse and keyboard and hell yeah. New Vegas in bed. Of course, I can do that without a PC, too.

Sorry, it wasn't intended that way =(

Also, for what it's worth a wireless mouse at least kicks ass. Really easy to kick back and relax with one.

It's cool, man.

If I am going to hook up to my TV, I'd probably get an air mouse, actually. I remember one my compsci teacher in highschool had. They're apparently not that durable, but goddamnit that fucker was cool. Functioned as both mouse and air mouse, but the air mouse function was the coolest.

Newer Fallouts for PC sure are interesting because of console commands and mods.

If I do get those for PC first I'll try to avoid those mods that make everyone look like super models or some kind of techno ninja.

Anywaaaay.... back to goo and ash...

Yeah, that stuff's just creepy. Doesn't fit anyway. Debug console is the main draw (which should be available on the console versions) because Bethesda can make games that are buggy as fuck.

It really puts me off of using energy weapons in Fallout 3 (ridiculously poor damage aside) , scared I will get a critical and scar the landscape permanently with a piece of shit. It had better not be in NV.

Pretty much what The Enclave 86 said.

I avoided critical enhancer perks and my favorite weapon (wazor waffaw) because of that bug.

No matter how may crashes, bugs, missing NPCs and fucked up graphics they put, the goo/ash piles bug will always be the worse for me...

Unfortunately, I think they'll still be present in New Vegas, as I've mentioned above; the game certainly wouldn't like dropping five or six items on top of each other, probably causing the physics engine to shit itself.

Of course, what they could do is make it so that energy weapon critical hits caused the bodies to just turn into goo/dust and just blow away, leaving you only their weapon, if that. Would be a nice tradeoff for the extra firepower that energy weapons (should) give you.
