OOC Chapter 3 Lone Wanderers

Nice intro Ed, but for now the car is dead. Sorry brother, but while cars do show up in Kilrick, that's the first auto in Lone Wanderers yet.

No problem, that was just my tie-in to how he managed to get from Arizona to Texas anyway. I had no intention of using that car. :)

Now, I'm a little confused about the geography here... Tyler's at sea level, above the canyon (which is why he didn't notice anything until he got out of his car). Looking down, he wouldn't be exposed to anything but stray bullets shot into the air, right? Or are there horses at sea level that I wasn't aware of?
 
Ok, Zoe, thanks for the post on the ICC thread.

I think you were thinking that if you collapsed now, the players might see you and pick you up and carry you home.

The problem is that we have already met two new characters out of the blue and this is the wastelands- people are few and far between.

So to avoid random player overkill, I have instead had you discovered by the Oprezki's 4th column. They are on their way to battle against the caravan so that should bring you close.

You are also wounded and will probably be unconscious for awhile.

I will leave this next post to you. However, the Oprezki are very nasty people who enjoy torture as a hobby. They will interrogate you fro what info they can. They will use terrible means to do it. Also the Oprezki men have not seen a woman in many many days- so you can imagine they are quite "lustful". But you can escape if you are clever.

Alternatively, you could be rescued.

WHat do the rest of you think?
 
*cough* That is exactly why I took my time asking how would be the best way to join in instead of just jumping right away....

Oh well... I love a good challenge :)

Well it's really quite simple. There are three story threads going on within this chapter-

Rogue's story at the University. They have just united with a group of Slayers, trying to save Syphon's arm and then get out before being eaten by abominations.

Caleb is still on the way Grey Cliffs. At Grey Cliffs the battle has been heating up.

At the caravan, most of the caravan and De Silvas are held up in an old mission. A small group has done a raid to steal the Oprezki horses. Now they are retreating quickly.

Zoe has entered the game as a wanderer from somewhere else and has just gotten captured by another column of Oprezki.

Syphon's and Rama's characters- I have no ideas. Send me a Pm if you need help.

Also Zoe, this is a bit different from the normal role play. More like creative writing. No real turn based movement. Think of this more like writing small chapters in a real big book and leaving it to the next person to write the next chapter.

If you folks are thinking of a way to bring ZOe and Syphon's new characters together, it might be possible, but you two should PM each other. At least pm me so that we can get this sorted out.

Rama, I could use a pm from you as to what you are up to as well.
 
Well as I told you via Pm, Welsh, this Stryfe incarnation is Hannibal Stryfe... He is like a Mysterious Stranger... except with darker motives. His intent was to find and track down a Tyler Bellford... Ed Collins knows the rivalry between the two... Just probably didn't think he'd be followed all the way into Texas.

Stryfe wanders near the area where that group of mercs/scavangers were ambushed by abominations. Stryfe wants tech, and who knows... He may help.

here is a basic geography concept-

The mission-fort is north of the Canyon. The village that got sacked- where Zoe is going and where Syphon's NPC is, is South and probably west.

The Big Easy is New Orleans, a bit of a distance East. it is the outer limit of League dominated territory.

Grey Cliffis is between where we are now and the Big Easy.

Tabis, where we started is a few weeks/months to the West.

Sorry, no maps. It's loosely based on Texas, but more than that, I can't tell you.

We are playing fast and loose with geography. We shouldn't but, hey it's a work of imagination.
 
Hmm, the lone wanderers seems like an interesting RPG thread. I am interested and will join as soon as I can flesh in a character, that is if I am allowed to or are you at the end of a need for more players?

Nope, Lone Wanderers will always have a vacancy for new players. I think it's mainly because we were so desperate to have new characters during Chapter One (there was only welsh, Fang, RogueHex, and I playing it). We've had our share of newcomers (more then ten, at the very, very least) since continuing our story, though some have left.

We've got to finish off this monster of a chapter, though, so I'd think it's best to wait until chapter four, if you please.

Oh, and I think I'll address this aloud, but I think we may have to kill off Maverick's character, welsh. He's one of the mercenaries guarding Grey Cliffs and he hasn't been active.
 
Honestly Gunslinger, I think this is the problem for players. If we ask them to wait until Chapter 4 starts that might be awhile and they could lose interest.

They could play NPCs. Much of the posting here is NPCs anyway. Or we could ask they join Kilrick for now.

But actually I would prefer they join in. Better to get involved now than later. We will have to figure a way to get you in, but that process can go from Chap 3 to 4.

What I suggest we do is finish up Chapter 3 in the following ways-

(1) the battle between the DeSilva/Caravneers vs the Oprezki column is resolved.
(2) Caleb gets to Grey Cliffs
(3) Rogue finishes up the detour to the University and rejoins the caravan (or at least finishes the unversity.

If we have to Rogue's finishing of the University section could happen in Chapt 4 and she could rejoin the others. The bringing in of the caravan into Chapt 4 can happen more slowly (I mean it was at least two pages before the caravan got started in the first place) and you can continue the battle.

This way not so much delay.

I would rather have Maverick PM'd than be killed off. I am thinking he was left off on his lonesome for too long and perhaps lost interest. But perhaps he will rejoin with vigor when the game gets going.

That's the thing folks, new players come and go, but the story moves forward. This cannot hinge on any one player's posting. The one who got this going, Fang, dropped out very early. So post.

So I think it better if we bring in new players as soon as they want to come in, and lets move the story forward.

Oh, and yes, I wish to join the Kilrick thing... Seems you all are short of men. And Stryfe will keep me on the speed on details. Yeah, I know Rama, we live on the same isle and he visits me in the North.

Hey guys...

Sorry I haven’t been around much for the past 2 weeks or so, but I’m on vacation now so I should be able to post on a more regular basis.

Just wanted to say a few things...

Rama Stryfe just wanted to check that Stryfe is at the university location. You said about abominations but I just wanted to be sure.
If your thinking of getting into the university, then we'll need to find away to get you in. Daylight is practically here and a fair few of the abominations should disappear. The whole nocturnal killers and all. Plus i guess most of them have fed so that’s a bonus.

We’ll find away. You could PM me any ideas you have about plans and so on. Or what ever is good with you...

Syphon, I PM'd you my plans but how to finish this little encounter off but due to me being absent for a while, I figured we need to get this wrapped up pretty quickly so i think I might change the ending to a more simpler finish. Just to gave you the heads up.

Plus Syphon should be active pretty soon and you'll have a new toy to play with...
