is there any way to shut off the automated ending of Fallout Tactics, and continue exploring the map once the main story is over?

oh, im not modding it. i hoped there was allready a fix for it. i dont have an editor, or any modding experience.
maybe this request went into the wrong subforum...

the forced ending should be something fixed long ago, imho :I

ORLY?
Why?

I really don't understand your motivation. You don't want to mod anything, but need that fix for "open" ending? Errr...
Meantime, you get nothing special after finishing game. There's no quests, no new enemies, nothing of interest. You always can kill 9000 more mutants or robots BEFORE going to Vault 0.

It makes sense ONLY if you plan to add new content.

im not a modder, i guess i am looking for - a mod.
one that will remove the forced ending, and allow me to exit the final mission, and roam around freely.

yes, i intend to roam around doing nothing special. the same way i roam around doing nothing special after finishing FO2.

is there such a fix in existence?

sigh :(

Disagree. FO2 offers MORE than just mindless roaming. FoT is linear.

counter-disagree. i complete everything in FO2 before visiting the enclave. its a little.. twitchy-thing of mine i guess. that is, except for the little end-game bonuses, but other than that, there really isnt much to do other than to roam around killing things. i still appreciate the option. i missed it in FO1 too.

Quite strange. Get 1.27 patch, and "FT Tools" will be here.

really? ive never noticed this, and ive fanatically played this game too many times :I
is it in the normal game interface, or a separate program?
i had to uninstall some time ago, ill patch the reinstall, and look for this. this could be dangerously intriguing :I
if i get the hang of it, according to reply #1 up there, there should be hope for my unreasonable wish :D

I've uploaded an edited final mission that'll take you back to the world map after defeating the Calculator. Don't know how long it'll take to get approved though.

excellent
gimme a nudge when its avaliable? :D

My mod allows you to play after defeating the Calculator as long as you don't Donate the brain of your main character, of course you can always donate the brain of one of you squaddies and continue to play, plus there is way more to explore in my mod too...
