Opinion/asshole quote

A "weird" question, people:
I know that in one of the Fallout games a character says something along the lines of 'Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has got one and they all stink.'
Since I'm working on a book that deals with opinions as well as with assholes (yeah, I'm pretty twisted), I was considering using this Fallout quote as the opener to the book. However: to do so, I need to know what the exact phrase is (with the correct interpunction and all), who exactly says it (is it the Vaultdweller himself?) and in which of the two Fallout games it appears, so I can add that info to the quote (I like to be complete when I quote someone).
Can someone help me out? I know one of you has/had it for his sig, but I forget whom it is.
 
It is not really a Fallout quote, but a common saying that has been around for awhile. I don't quite remember the origin.
 
One of the member's here has that quote in his signature...Im sure he would know where it is since he obviously remembers it so fondly...dont remember the guys name though...Im sure he'll reply when he see's this.

There's a lot of misc smartass quote pages on the web, so you should get a few hits if you google, perhaps some with attribution. If you find that people don't agree on the source you can use it without attribution (which can look even cooler). Of course, you run the risk that there's someone, somewhere, with a big nose who knows, and trips you up and laughs when you fall.

You may also want to find out the exact source for your own peace of mind/ability to laugh people in the face if they dispute it. I've found one or two times that I didn't want to use what at first looked like a perfectly good quote once I found out about the context in which it was used.
 
Yeah, I googled it after I read the posts in this thread. Most quotation sites attribute it to... 'Unknown'.
A slightly different version of the quote ("Opinions are like assholes — everyone's got one, but nobody wants to look at the other guy's.") is attributed to some guy named Winston Hal Hickman. I think he's a stand-up comedian.
Ah, kinda sucks. I would have found it more interesting if it had been a Fallout original. I'll probably go for some obscure Lord Byron quote now. :wink:

There's also a collector's edition of that saying, it goes:
