Opinions on Youtube Celebrities and gaming personalities?

Angry Joe does good game reviews

He may be entertaining in a way you look at "worst fail" videos as he is a huge retard and embarassing to watch, but informative? In most reviews of his that I have seen he raves on about superfluous things or doesn't even scratch the surface of particular gameplay issues etc.

As for me, I am only watching "cr1tical"s videos, as I find his monotonous voice somehow soothing, especially when I am hung over. He also doesn't give a crap about youtube celebrities or getting the buck of his stuff and instead gives the money he earns on youtube to charity.

TotalBiscuit watcher here. He usually makes some good points and his opinions align with mine.

And like everyone, Yahtzee too, albeit that's more for the lulz of it. When he starts getting preachy and/or discuss design ideas I lose him sometimes because he's not that coherent. Biscuit is.

The two brits everyone already mentioned and Matt from Matt Chat. He seems like the closest thing to an actual gamer on the internet. I love that guy.

YouTube has some informative videos in some dark abandoned corners of the community, but most of the website contains meaningless content.

I would not consider it entertainment in any capacity however. Especially after reading about people argue who made commentary for some video game first, or arguments whether or not talking over video games would be considered talent, may god help us all.

I actually enjoy watching Ryan Higa.
Also such series' as Video Game High School. Can't get enough of that show.

I've always had this odd personality disorder where I find it almost impossible to become irritated, so I really don't care how derpy or ADD-addled someone is as long as they're not straight-out murderbait like Fred or Annoying Orange. Mostly, I let my girlfriend pick the vids. The regulars around here are:

KSIOlajidebt
PewDiePie
Cry (Cryaotic)
Fine Brothers/Teens(/Elders/Kids/YouTubers) React
JacksFilms
Doug Walker/Nostalgia Critic
Nostalgia Chick
Ash Burch (Hey Ash Whatcha Playin?)
Two Best Friends Play/Matt & Pat's Shitstorm of Scariness
Jenna Marbles

In general, yes, a lot of online personalities are the kind of people you'd either find in a high school drama class or refilling a Ritalin prescription at an all-night pharmacy. It sort of goes hand-in-hand with putting yourself in front of a camera as a hobby. Most of them, though, whatever their flaws, are usually interesting enough to keep me from wanting to watch them spontaneously combust onscreen, and some are pretty good.

We follow a ton of YouTube musicians, too, but that would be too long a post to make, even for me. Erock, Pomplamoose, BrentalFloss, Lindsey Stirling, Pentatonix and Peter Hollens are the ones that update most often.

Jack is quite an aweomse guy but i'm not watching his videos as much as i used to.

Besides that i do/did look at a lot of PewDiePie's horror and the bicyle game videos.. But he can be quite annoying.

Angry Joe is good most of the times but he can also get annoying.

That's about it i guess.

I in general watch the Young Turks, the Amazing Atheist (I am more interested in his videos about hypocrisy of religious figures rather than his debates about God), and Ashens whose reviews of crappy toys and items is pretty amusing.

My biggest problem with Angry Joe is that he's utterly incapable of using a microphone. Shouting is fine, it's his shtick, but goddamn, stop the clipping. That's just annoying.

- AlChestBreach
- Spoony (whenever the blue moon rises and he makes an episode)
- Libertarian Socialist Rants (also known as ElectricUnicycleCrew)
- PMRants
- Schmoyoho

I also infrequently watch Angry Joe (he becomes more boring with every video), the Angry Video Game Nerd (I don't like his new style, it mainly has something to do with the HD camera), and Game Theory (it is geared towards casual gamers).

YouTube celebrities are a weird case. I almost never watch them, or even notice them. If I watch them, they are almost always extremely annoying or two-dimensional. The only one I constantly notice is PewDiePie, who is constantly pushed into my face by way of YouTube algorithms.

PMRants? Isn't that the guy who looks like a penis and thinks that just because he doesn't like Death Metal it's objectively bad?

I never did watch his video about grindcore (as I don't care much for heavy metal in general), but he doesn't look like a male reproductive organ, but it is true that he abuses the word objective. Still, he is fun to watch, if you set your thought-capacitor output to zero.

His haircut makes his head distinctively penis-shaped I think.
Dunno, I just never found him entertaining, ranting isn't really my thing (with a few exceptions, of course).

Which ranters are the exception to the rule, according to you?

Well, I do like the Angry Video Game Nerd, Spoony, Nostalgia Critic... I just find their style to be more entertaining, less forced. There the ranting has more humorous effect to me.
Guys like The Amazing Atheist and the Knobhead up there just make me want to punch their faces for some reason.
Oh well, I'm not forced to watch them, and to each his own I guess.
