PC build for Fallout 3, NV, Skyrim and possibly FO4

OP, go on some hardware forums and ask there.
I could help you but you would have to state what exactly do you need etc.
So, get out of here and visit some computer hardware forums.

@down
Okay, but there's no such a thing like "buuilding a pc" for specific games.
I am trying to help you so please at least consider this advice :)
Go on some hardware forum like linustechtips or tom'shardware or some other popular ones and ask there. State your budget and what is it that you need EXACLY like Motherboard, PSU, GPU, HDD/SSD, Case, Cooling, Any other 3.5" devices, RAM, any peripherals like mouse/keyboard etc etc.
Once you've done that they should be able to build the best PC possible in any given cost range.

Goodness this forum feels so hostile! I have looked at hardware forums and came here to get a little more specific info from gamers who play similar games to myself.

And so much hate for fallout 3. You might have not liked the new games as much as you liked the old but Bethesda brought fallout to a new audience. This was Bethesda's first go at fallout and I thought they made a pretty impressive game. I'm sure they will learn from mistakes.

800 lbs is a pretty good budget for a mid to high end PC. You should have no problem finding a configuration that will easily run those games. If you want to save some lbs, build it yourself. You can find out how to build a PC online.

+1 for asking at a hardware site like Tom's Hardware though. Overclockers.net(or.com) is also good and so is MajorGeeks if that site still exists.

I would not get my hopes to high. What you see as "mistake" is done on purpose.

The problem is, Bethesda knows what its doing (probably). And they also know their "target" audience.

So no, we can never expect a true Fallout game from Beth. Its simply not the kind of stuff they do. The people which enjoyed the past games are a minority, and Bethesda is not the kind of company that makes games to please a minority. Hell, they dont even please their "own" fans, if you look what they made out of the Elder Scrolls games.

Also yes, this forum is sometimes hostile. But hey, you just have to grow a thicker skin, people don't mean it as offense usually. Its just how this place tends to be. Once people stick around long enough, things change. I mean you should have been around when Fallout 3 was released. The hostility we show has a reason. It keeps the yeah ... the people away that dont fitt to NMA to say that. We are open to any discussion, even Fallout 3. No problem! if you like it or not is not really a problem, and moderators usually take care about people that insult or flame someone just because he likes F3. But usually the people do nothing else but to say that the game is awesome and we have no clue or something like that. Thats not a discussion you know. Or that its impossible to please NMA fans or other nonsense. And then yeah, people get hostile.

But I thought that General Gaming and Hardware was for talk about gaming and hardware in general. If they guy wants help building a computer, why not just help him? Why give him shit about what games he wants to play?

Thanks for the support, I suppose this is a fallout 1 and 2 forum. Any one got a SVGA graphics card or the Windows 95 disk?

I am aware forums by nature are often hostile due to anonymity but it just seems this one is a little more so than others. Just an opinion of someone who is new to NMA.

Gaming and gamers have changed since 1998. Fallout was always going to be different. As a fan of dystopia an opportunity to explore a nuclear fallout wasteland will always will be a joy!

@crni people got hostile about fo3 because I posted a video of liberty prime which was related to a comment someone made about communism. I wonder what would happen if I said 'I've just broken my steal catheter' or 'My ex-wife weighs a megaton' or 'Canterbury by is full of commoners' ???

3570k ($224)
Gigabyte GTX660 Ti ($299)
Asus P8Z77-V LK ($135)
16GB Corsair Vengeance (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C9) ($125)
1TB Caviar Black ($91)
High quality case ($100-140)
Asus DVD-RW Drive ($21)

Total = $1025 or €787

And you've forgot about PSU + you could probably get more in that price range.
Like I said - seek help on dedicated hardware forum.

Add another 50 euros for a nice, modular PSU.

And yes, if you cheap the fuck out on the case, get low-end memory, cheap motherboard, and trade the 660 Ti for one of AMD's bargain-priced offerings you'll come out ahead a few bucks.

You'll probably end up with buyer's remorse after cheaping out, though.

Oh man, are you in for it. :D

I can only hope your exposure to NMA enlightens you.

$100 nvidia gpu
$125-150 mobo
$110-140 ram
$100 psu
$200 cpu

keep in mind it does not require a gaming rig to play.

bethesda uses the xbox360 as its dev platform.

2.0-2.2 gig quad cpu (xbox is 1.2-1.4 )
any GPU ( nvidia 8800 was better than the xbox one )

for L 800 you can definately build something to work with to play FO3.

keep in mind it is very NOT TAXING for your GPU. they use 8k x 8k bit texture size. thats because thats the maximum for the xbox. for an example, crysis 2 highest resolution was 64k x 64k, and their standard texture size for the PC was 32x32 ( they also had a hybrid 48 x 48 ).

just for reference, thats 16 bit graphics quality.

Dont even ask man! :P

Post back here with specs when you've got it built. I'm approaching a build with similar intent, so I'd be interested to see what you went with.
