Technology? I haven't said a thing about technology. When it comes to human rights though, we are far ahead of Asia or Africa. That's a fact. China and Japan are just as techonlogically advanced as we are. That's what's scary about China...
I know you didnt mentioned it, I was saying that in general.
And well, human rights ? Indeed. Many things work on the surface. And only there. Things might be in some nations better then in others. But when I look over to the french and their wars in africa and what they did in Asia as well which is not that far in the past (remember the foreign legion from the 60s and 70s?). Or letz better not even start about the US or you will edmiately see al those people jump in here either bashing the US for fun or defending it cause "it gets always bashed for fun!". But thats all beside the point.
Fact is as well if the roles would be reversed and europe would be the shithole africa is (more or less), we would not care an inch about human rights either.
From our position at home in a comfortable situation with a save gouvernement since it isnt changing every half year violantly and a somewhat stabile economy it is easy to claim that the system in europe or north america is inherently better. That we are peaceful people and such.
Fact is as well that trough the aprox last 100-150 years this wealth we gained was made on the cost of Asia and Africa mostly. political, economical and military intervention. From Arabia, to Somalia, China, Vietnam etc. etc. the list is quite long. One has not not to search very hard to find something about the one or other nation. And I am trying very hard to not be specific here cause most if not all are guility and still are. Where is Africa geting most of its weapons, ilegal AND legal. Right, France, Britain, US, Russia and as well China. They earn a lot from those wars. So at the same time when people here scream about human rights in africa for example I have to shake my head and think about the legal weapon trading many european nations do in Africa ... so much to that point no.
We have human rights cause we can afford them. True. But not cause european/north american people are "inherently" better compard to the african population for example. Or North Korean one for that matter.
