Tiny Tim
Still Mildly Glowing
gravedigging but just in case you're still wondering it happens in junktown, if you sneak into the doctor's basement and follow a specific dialogue path after getting caught. He agrees to let you go if you agree to let him take anything he wants from you. And then rips your eye out!Whoa! Where does this happen?
I had to reload when this happened because your perception drops to 1 ( found out by trying to kill the bastard ) and it was my first playthrough. I latter found out that you can fix the eye damage and your perception returns to normal, though you're still technically one eyed.
The thing is, something like this would never happen in fallout new vegas. Not only because the dialogues are generally more predictable ( though the overall lore, setting and plot is brilliant ) but also because you never have to worry about saying the wrong thing to anyone. You are never in danger, and nothing really unexpected ever happens. For the most part, you can't even turn someone hostile through dialogue, without shooting them that is
There are some exceptions to this where you can say the wrong thing, like the ncr trooper in boulder city that goes hostile if you shoot the memorial and fail to calm him down or call his dead brother a bitch, the hobo that is sensitive about his eye in freeside, the companions in general, the npcs in dead money etc . And they're brilliant. But the old games were packed with dialogue like this. And because the games were more harsh, you could totally fuck up by saying the wrong thing. This made the dialogues a lot more fun.
And on the same topic, i miss the violence in itself. It felt like i was watching an exploitation film in the old games.
