post apocalyptic flicks?

I heard someone call 28 Days Later "a totally original movie, unlike any other!"...

Obviously they've never seen "The Last Man on Earth" nor it's remake, "The Omega Man."

"28 Days Later"

I watched it right after re-reading Wyndham's the Day of the Triffids. Was funny, the similarities are infinite. I was expecting a Triffid to pop up at any moment.

So don't start about originality, the whole theme is Wyndham's anyway.

Love Triffids. Actually there was a remake by the Brits some years after the original that was quite good too.

Can we include the Night of the Living Dead Series in this as well?

vampire hunter d is cool. what about Dr. Strangelove? Brazil is kinda weird but not post apocoliptic. its like a retro-future style film made somtime in the 80's i think.

"Last Man On Earth" beats "Omega Man" hands down.

"The Quiet Earth" was a really good post-apocalypse movie, haven't seen it in a long time though. I think it was made in New Zealand, but should be pretty easy to find.

Edit: Haven't seen it, but I've always heard good things about "The Atomic Cafe". I think it's more of a documentary than a movie though.

Brazil was great but I always thought of it more as a 1984 type flick, except that its a democracy and not an authoritarian state.

Does anyone remember a movie with Richard Harris that is post apocalyptic? I think it was called Ravagers (but I'm not sure). Basically he runs afoul of these raider types and they chase him all over a post-apocalytic earth. Not a great flick but interesting.

you guys are forgetting one of the most populair (semi) post-apoctalyptic movie series: Terminator, with our big friend "Arnuld".

I remember seeing Damnation Alley starring Hannibal from the A team, pretty cheesy but some similarities to the fallout games

"Seksmisja" is the best post-apoc movie evah.

Think of it as life in a gigantic Vault 69.

It's a Polish movie from the early 80's.

Mad Max

I cannot believe no one has said.... The Mad Max series. Its post Atmoic War and everything, best one is Mad Max: Across the Thunderdome, Everytime i get back into fallout i always put all of those on. Really check them out.

someone feed Otto to the deathclaw please...

btw, i cant find A Boy and His Dog anywhere... been asking everyone i know thats into movies and shops for like 5 years straight, but nothing.

all they always come up with is the disneycrapmovie with the same name ofcourse. not the good ol' psycho boy & his killer dog.

any leads? and no, i'm not gonna buy it in the US and have it shipped to Belgium, just a wee bit too expensive, mkay?

There was a region 2 dvd release last year (or was it the year before) anyway if it comes to it order from the UK should be cheaper shipping.

Whats with all these 28 Days later lovers?

Does no one see the black hole sized plot hole here?

The world ended because monkeys watched too much bad television.

At least they killed some hippies...
