Post-war England

What do you think happened to the U.K after the Great War? I think they might be in a better shape in position than most people in the U.S. But thoughts?

The UK is a nuclear power, so... with the next-to-zero in-game info, beyond mentions of Europe in general, one would assume that the nuclear powers - Great Britain + France would have dealt nukes - and recieved nukes - at a higher rate than non-nuclear powers.

Pure speculation of course

It was probably already a mess of trenches by the time of the Great War because of the European Civil War. They probably had a situation very similar to that of World War II, where London and the other major cities were constantly being bombed and attacked. I'm sure some of the surviving nations of Europe used their ICBMs to settle old scores, though, so I think it's safe to say that it's a barren wasteland at this point.

Also, I helped to build that page among others.

Hope it's not too barren. I think since England was a superpower before the U.S and going down a semi 1950's and 1960's timeline and assuming England is still a superpower I think they would've made an equivalent to the Vault program to house many U.K citizens, though from what I read they probably would've called them "Safehouses", "Havens", or "Arks".

It would be pretty ridiculous, at least in my opinion. If there was an Fallout game taking place in England, there should probably be normal public fallout shelters rather than actual Vault-Tec vaults.

Not saying it would be made by Vault-Tec. I'm talking about a English native equivalent to Vault-Tec. Like "SafeHaven shelters". During the Blitz were there. And now we'll be there again.

Same thing. I just personally wouldn't like to see the same re-hashed plot, maybe something new- i.e., conventional fallout shelters.

Yeah. But if you've heard about Fallout: Resource Wars. It was an idea that would explain the resource wars and everything led up to the great war when Europe fell apart. But yeah I can say conventional Fallout shelters are okay. Just thinking of a good plot for a Fallout taking place in England.

Bomb shelters are standard in... well, mostly every city on earth.. so shelters are not something that would "steal from" Fallout lore.

As a kid, during the end of the Cold War, we actually had bomb-shelter practice runs in primary school. Only once or twice, cus 1990 came all of a sudden

Obviously, these aren't the massive community-vaults as seen in Fallout, but shelters and vaults will be commonplace almost everywhere, especially if we add a nuclear war to the scenario. The apartment block where I grew up also had bomb shelters, and these were a bit more complex, but still quite cramped.

I could say the English Fallout shelters were built in deep and pretty technologically advanced. But they aren't blast shelters. They could hold life support for at least two-three years. Kinda like the ones in America. But since there's no Vault-tec.....

I never said 'no fallout shelters', just no massive underground vaults. Of course conventional fallout shelters would be in use.

England would probably have been a nuclear wasteland due to the European wars. The government would have been collapsed and the economy ruined.

Unless some semblance of it survived. Kinda like the Enclave or the BOS. Or a new government forms.

Creativity-wise, that's gonna be a problem, since "war... war never changes", it means most of society would react similarily. Every country would have their own "enclave" trying to restore the former country, especially major powers, and if not - they would definitely have their own "NCR", as in - fresh attempts at democracy and law and order, first localized, then expanded - if not only to secure more and more surrounding march, to keep the core population safe

How about the "Royal Order" ruled by a King who uses a massive Army to conquer across the lands in hope of restoring old England. They prize themselves as the remnants of the British government. Including having working tanks, helicopters, planes, and vehicles. Using this they conquer and kill all who oppose. Mostly kill since most villages and towns refuse to acknowledge them as the government since the government collapsed 60 years ago. Yeah my idea of Fallout England would take place in 2137.

True but he Irish. I'm talking specifically about the state of England after the Great War. To which a Fallout set in Europe would make a good webcomic
