Post your insane Fallout 4 theories and headcanon

5:] The Mysterious Stranger is the now-immortal Detective that Nick Valentine was based on.
So the Mysterious Stranger somehow has a lifespan of over 210. How much mental gymnastics did you have to do to get that one to fit?

Well let's go over the list of things that appear to have an indefinite lifespan in the fallout universe.

  1. Super mutants
  2. Nightkin
  3. Ghost people
  4. Ghouls
  5. Centaurs
  6. Harold
  7. Cabot family
  8. Spore carrier
Not to mention the llong list of characters kept alive by some sort of technology.

  1. Mr house
  2. The residents of vault 112
  3. Professor Calvert
  4. Conrad Kellogg
  5. The think tank
  6. Rex
  7. K9
  8. Robobrains
  9. Nuka cola inventor
  10. Vault 111 residents
  11. Also the mothershit zeta abductees.
Remind me again why you find that so unthinkable?

You can always make things better with tweaks.

Unless you're George Lucas.
"Some assembly requried" is fine for IKEA shelves, not for a game that is supposed to portray a consistent world. A game that requires a shit-ton of rewrites for all its numerous plotholes is a piece of shit if the whole fucking genre of said game is based on world-development and story. If I have to suspend my disbelief from the neck from the ceiling fan to enjoy a game, the writers did a shit job, simple as that. Fucking Kingpin: Life of Crime had a more consistent and believable world than Fallout 4. Come to think of it, it also had almost the same dialogue system, consisting of yes, no, and question. Or, contextually, friendly, asshole, and neutral.
Its companion system was also similarly in-depth.
But its gunplay was better, and it had a soundtrack by Cypress Hill. Kingpin > Fallout 4.

In Fallout? Not much.

Tis a strange world.
What a shit defense. I'm not trying to be mean, but whenever someone asks you to provide some semblance of logic to your reasoning try to bring something to the table man.

anti-responses trigger me.

All of those either have strange physical traits, or in the case of the Cabot Family are non-canon. To our knowledge, all sources of immortality(Without use of technology) in the current lore also have physical marks along with them.
  • Mr house
  • The residents of vault 112
  • Professor Calvert
  • Conrad Kellogg
  • The think tank
  • Rex
  • K9
  • Robobrains
  • Nuka cola inventor
Mr House, the Residents of Vault 112, and John Caleb Braberton are all completely incapable of movement, and are semi-cyrogenically frozen and stuck to computer consoles.

In the case of The Think Tank, Rex, K9 and Robobrains, they all have obvious traits, and are basically more robot than they are human.

Kellog, I'll give you that one, however that would imply that the Mysterious Stranger has some connection to the Institute, which wouldn't explain his continued presence on the West Coast.

Bruh the mysterious stranger is totally the third guy from Richard Grey's expedition to mariposa mutated by FEV. TA-DOW! problem solved.

It's a headcanon suggestion and not a serious one like the later ones I did. Hence why the Sole Survivor is joked about being the Pint Sized Slasher.

But if I were doing it?

The original Nick Valentine after donating his memories to CIA was shipped to Mariposa military base where West Tech subjected to him to numerous experiments. Nick Valentine managed to escape during the apocalypse when the facility he was kept at was being evacuated. Nick eventually discovered that he no longer aged but was highly radioactive, forcing him to keep his distance from regular people. Nick thus made a habit of following people he sensed were of great importance to assist them from a distance, shooting their enemies and remaining in the shadows with his near-infinite number of stealth boys.

Then why does he look completely human? FEV doesn't provide a clean-cut genetic enhancement. It's quite a messy process.

It wasn't necessarily FEV and certainly not immersion. They could have been involved in a lot of crazy shit which only gave immortality without ghoulifcation (but severe radiation damage as a proximity effect) to him. Then again, I think of some of the Perks as genuine mutations in-setting.

Ghoulish, Solar Powered, and others seem appropriate.

I think of them as a game being a game.

Wtf? No. Were that the case the master would've used that shit. He read all the records and there's no such mention of anything like that in any of his journals.

I imagine if the Master knew of the Mysterious Stranger, he would have made an effort to find him or the records of the process which created him.

But in simple terms, I think it's good to make worlds bigger and not everything having to be connected to one another. I would like to see more companies other than Vault-Tec involved in crazy experimentation and evil corporate shenanigans. I would like to see more stuff not connected to pre-existing factions. Make the world bigger not smaller.

More serious Fallout 4 headcanon.

41:] The Pack are tribals which grew up in Nuka World and are the descendants of children trapped there. They got into the tunnels and survived with a handful of the staff when the bombs well. That's why they wear such bright and garish costumes as well as paint everything in theme park colors.

42:] The Pack were driven out of Nuka World by the Traders (utilizing the Gunners back when they were more mercenaries than Raiders) who took them to be just another bunch of wasteland savages. This became a self-fulfilling prophecy as the Pack became feral and brutal in the wilderness around Nuka World. This was about twenty years ago.

43:] Cito is a member of the original Pack before they went bad. Assigning the Pack the Safari land and telling him to share is a tearful reunion.

43:] The Disciples are descendants of a group of young female slaves sent from Paradise Falls to the Pitt which got interrupted by the fall of said place to the Lone Wanderer. Nisha learned the ways of their captors who kept them for themselves until she slaughtered them all and transformed the slave group into Raiders themselves.

Their psychotic behavior is a defense mechanism to never be victims again.

44:] Except for Dixie, who is just crazy.

45:] Mags Black has a vision of Nuka World which goes well beyond what the other pack have. Specifically, she wants to re-open the bottling plant and sell Nuka Cola across the Eastern Coast. This is actually potentially worse than simple raiding since she'll need a lot of slaves to grow Multifruit outside of Nuka World.

46:] The reason Colter was so hesitant to retake the park was because he did a short examination of the other sections and decided it was suicide to try.

47:] The X-01 Power Armor was placed there by a Nuka Cola addicted East Coast Enclave soldier who decided to spend the rest of his days in the park. It turned out to be three before a Gator Claw ate him.

48:] The Grandchester Mystery House ghost is actually a hologram. This is disappointing to visitors who find out.

49:] Oswald becomes the Mayor of Goodneighbor after Hancock.

50:] Kasumi isn't a Synth. She just has a very vivid imagination.

51:] Dara Hubbell is actually a con woman named Felicity Maxwell and from Diamond City. She found a copy of the Hubologist's secrets in the Boston Library and restarted the religion as a way to make caps. She believes her followers to be deeply gullible.

She's correct.
