Posters!

This is so great. Its not often these stuff is posted and when it is we dont get that many pictures, but I must say that of all the ones Diarmada has posted are new that I've never seen before. I'm really surprised someone can have such a large collection and all of them are ones totally different from all the others I've seen to date!

DDD is right...the last one is the best. It also relates to my signature totally coincidentally...

Hey Diarmada mind if I make a link in my signature to it with my often-used phrase?

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

No I do not mind one bit, I think it is great that you guys enjoy them as I do....its hard to find any like minded people these days, you would think that the more global everything gets, the more we would relate, but I find a lot of the time, the opposite to be true ....Thanks again for your comments and such, I appreciate it, I only wish I posted them earlier, now on to some more pics....

I'm even more thoroughly impressed. You have foreign posters which I've never seen before and advertisements that I rarely see.

The one in French that's yellowed with the tattered soldier is awesome! The one with the toy atomic submarine made me laugh...they really wanted their children to think nothing of the war.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Wooz: The fellow over at the CivilDefense Museum is not giving out the high quality scans anymore, as he found someone over at eBay selling shirts based off his scans. The posters are in the public domain and have no copyright, but he didnt like someone using his images to cash in...dunno, that is just the word.

Angrim: If you like you can always download some of these images and if you have any friends in the printing business, get them to make some up for you, they wouldnt be original, but what does that matter, my friend works at the main Kinkos printing office/hub and I get some rare ones printed there, at their original sizes....you could actually make a decent living selling repros of rare ones, just not the more accesible ones....

Vault Dweller: Thanks for all the feedback, I also took the test, but my color was Black, I guess it was because none of the answers fit with my actual responses, so I just went for some humor instead...

Virtual Alex: I remember a poster that was like what you had mentioned, so I went looking for it in my stuff, but I do not think I have it, although my Russian is a wee bit non-existant...I will keep the eyes peeled....

(I have literally thousands of cold war and propaganda type posters, if only we had more space on NMA or a dedicated server that could handle all of them, would feel good to have them up for everyone to view...which ties in with a previous thread I started about a fundraiser for NMA, but it might not be viable, as Sander pointed out http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=375373#375373)

Here are a few more, hope I am not 'killing the cat' with posting all of these....
For the next few posts, I will be dividing it up into themes, this one will be status quo, but the next one should be about keeping quiet and the one after that should be humorous ones...well, I think they are humorous. Enjoy!

Yeah, actually I could print them at my school (art & media).

Thanks, Diarmada!

Heh, yeah, that would be awesome, it might actually give you access to some high quality paper...I have some recommends on paper types, as I have used most of these at least once:

If I had some money (or free access!) I would go with a Satin Canvas or a 100% cotton archival paper. They both produce museum quality prints and actually make digital images look much better, the colors seem truer and the texture is unbeatable.
The second tier is fine as well, as these produce images quite like the originals, I would go with either a 240 gsm fine art paper or any 50% cotton/50% polyester canvas (if you have a printer that can handle these types)...but realistically you will do fine with any canvas paper or any cotton-fiber matte canvas.

Here are some more posters in the theme of 'keeping quiet, the enemy might be listening'...These might not have the same punch as some of the others, but they are very interesting nonetheless...

I can't honestly say I've ever seen Jesus' ad campaign for the war before. Most of those were extremely awesome though. With the exception of the homo erotic German one of course....

The Jesus one is from Cuba, it's title is Jesus Guerrillero...It is definitely an odd one...I have seen a Russian anti-Jesus/west one, will see if I can dig it up...

Vault Dweller, the fat one is indeed inspiring, why oh why hasn't America re-launched this ad campaign?

Angrim, these next few you should also enjoy....

a few more general ones, will come up with yet another theme in a while...

'Save fats for explosives'?

Man, a nuclear holocaust suddently became so much worse than before; just imagine getting pig-ass all over your face before being blasted away...

I never quite thought of it like that before, that would definitely suck...

It sort of ties in with your avatar though....

Dont mess with The Enclave I tell you, they got big fucking lasers!

Nah, I've been thinking of getting a new one (because of the poor quality on my current), and the propaganda pictures sure gives me ideas...

Oh man. Thanks, Dia! These are just friggin' great. I feel like a babbling idiot that goes "great-cool-fantastic!", but I can't help it. They are just true awesomeness!

I haven't seen even the most of the Finnish ones ever earlier.

The fact that the pictures are uploaded on a website that sells windows to churches is pretty humoristic...

Heh, you noticed that...well, what can I say, nazis propaganda posters on a religious glass company site, its irony is too heavy handed to further exploit...
