Problems with Fallout2 Mods and patch000.dat

does this thread still need to be here? i dont believe there is a need for this thread since we dont see many ppl reporting problems about mods and patch000.dat
 
The only biggest concern is if someone has the original 1.0 version of Fallout 2, that means the master.dat, critter.dat, and patch000.dat must all be unpacked... But, the first two should be the first ones put into "data", and then the contents of patch000.dat. After that, it can be deleted.

No, it's not needed. Because you also need the patched Fallout2.exe from patches.
My FO2 is the original 1.0, and I never need to unpack the two main DAT files for patches.

That means the *true* concern is if someone intends to modify their game. If the patch000.dat file stays, all mods are nulled because it gets loaded after them.
