As long as you keep professions to quests and roleplay and keep them out of the stat/character system.

I'm gonna have to agree with silencer on this one

Actually there are already several professions available in Fallout2, (personally I think Made Man is more of a title than a profession) for instance one can choose to be a caravan guard repeatedly and earn money and experience from it. Being a Porn Star or boxer in New Reno also counts, you'd eventually run out of challengers prizefighting though, if I remember correctly howver you can keep making videos as a Porn Star every month. My thief character makes a living stealing, I'm assuming a character who boosts their gambling skill could do the same by beatiing the odds considering how many casinos there are in the Fallout games. Being a Slaver should also count.

I'd like to see it expanded though, maybe more special perks and benefits if you stick to your trade. (if I remember the design docs for Van Buren correctly, you can choose to become a bounty hunter, which is great.) However it should not take over the game but only gives the character a means of earing money and experience.

You want jobs? Mod them in. Personally, I hope the devs don't waste too much time with that.
They're going to waste a lot of time anyway, so why not on something semi-interesting?

Why Lumpy, what need would you have for a job? You already got one, no? Going to such length to let all the world know how little you like everything Bethesda does instead of just looking elsewhere for enjoyable games? Think you're ready for a second job? :wtf:
