By fitting the description, i mean that Fo1 deathclaws are worthy of their legendary status, and you understand why they leave so few survivors and why those who survive still shit themselves. Even the lone deathclaw at the hub has tons on AP and can punch you to death in no time. I spent the whole fight running around while my companions shot at it, and the beast still managed to regularly hit me despite the fact i used all my AP to run from him. Even at Boneyard, i could only take them 1 or 2 at the time, not the whole group at once.
On the other hand, Fo2 introduces so many weaker versions as early as Modoc, that you could beat them with a leather armor and a 10 mm SMG. And by the time you encounter the strongest version, you are already the god of death. (and without grinding random encounters. I only face the enemies i encounter during travel. I don't move around on the Worldmap to seek them)
About the robots in Fo1-Fo2, you only meet 99,999% of them in military facilities that have enough power to operate them. Sometime, a secondary faction manage to operate a single robot (one at Gecko, one at the NCR) to help them with their tasks. But you never see robots wandering around in the desert of in any backyard settlement. There are outdoors robots in FoT, but those were made operationnal very recently to serve a very specific purpose. I bet even FoBos didn't have outdoor wandering robots.
